  • Press Record Anyway

    Opening Quote:

Your voice doesn’t need to echo off stadium walls to matter.

Sometimes it just needs to reach the one who needed it today.”

    Debra Fodor

    💬 Deb’s 2 Cents:

    (I had to learn this)

Impact isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet, raw, and real—spoken from the heart, landing in the soul of someone barely holding on. Don’t measure your worth by how many hear you. Measure it by the truth you share and the courage it took to speak.

If your words reached one person today, that’s more than enough.

    That’s everything.

(And I truly had to learn this. Be humbled by it. Lean on it. And let go of the negative, noisy voice.)

"'Press record anyway' is a powerful reminder to take action despite doubts or fears. It's an encouragement to create, share, and express ourselves authentically, even when uncertainty looms. By pressing record, we give ourselves permission to take risks, learn from mistakes, and potentially connect with others on a deeper level. This mindset can be liberating, helping us to silence our inner critics and tap into our creative potential."

  • Mental Health: The Shame of not Copying Well

Hey it’s Deb, welcome to, “Be Your Empowered Self “

    Here’s the theme , “ I’m not OK-but I feel guilty about it”

Does this feel familiar? Does it resonate with you well in this episode we will be talking about why is this a lie and how can we build self empowerment to overcome these feelings?

    Quote:- Carl Jung/Swiss psychiatrist

“ I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become”

This is profound. It’s about not being defined by collapsed mistakes or mental health challenge. . It fits beautifully with a shame of not coping well because shame tells us we are our struggle.. so this quote counters that with quiet power.

In this final episode of our Mental Health Awareness Month series, we’re naming something most people are afraid to say out loud: “I’m not okay—but I feel guilty about it.” This episode pulls back the curtain on the shame so many women feel when they’re quietly crumbling inside, yet still expected to hold it all together. We’re talking about burnout, emotional exhaustion, and the invisible mental load—the kind that doesn’t show up on paper but weighs heavy on your spirit.

So listen and find out more why quiet power they need to be your own advocate is so important.

  • The Feather, The Stone, The Seed-My Mental Health Awakening

Welcome, Hey, so you pop in I know you will enjoy

this episode, it's a little long but sit with it if you have

to in parts but don't miss the message ✌️💯

    QUOTE:

    “I wasn’t broken. I was waking up.”

    — Debra Fodor

“The feather… the stone… the seed.”

I didn’t always have words for what I was feeling.

I just knew that sometimes I felt light—like I could float away, like I was untouchable.

And other times, I felt like a stone. Heavy. Anchored. Sinking. Like even breathing was effort.

And then there were moments… where I felt like a seed. Buried. Forgotten. But somehow still holding on to the possibility of something more.

    This episode is personal.

Not just because it’s about my mental health journey, but because it’s about the things I couldn’t say out loud for years.

It’s about the masks I wore. The silence I kept. The strength I pretended to have.

And the unraveling that had to happen… for me to finally come home to myself.

I don’t want this to be just another story about depression or anxiety.

I want this to be a story about awakening.

    A moment where I realized—

    I wasn’t broken.

    I wasn’t weak.

    I wasn’t lost.

    I was waking up.

And waking up hurts at first.

Because when you’ve been numb for so long, even feeling joy can feel foreign.

And healing isn’t beautiful at first.

    It’s messy.

    It’s crying in the shower.

    It’s not returning texts.

It’s wondering if you’re even worth loving anymore.

But in all of that mess…

    There was a whisper.

    And that whisper was mine.

The part of me that never gave up.

The part that still believed I had something left to live for—even if I couldn’t name it yet.

Find more when you listen to the full episode 🙏

Episode- “ how can we truly support each other’s mental health?”

    Quote:-

“Safety isn’t absent of treat. It is the presence of connection.” —-Dr Gabor Mate

What a powerful quote! Dr. Gabor Maté's words highlight the importance of connection in feeling safe. This perspective suggests that safety isn't just about eliminating threats, but about cultivating a sense of belonging, support, and community.

This quote resonates with the idea that humans are social creatures, and our sense of safety and well-being is deeply tied to our relationships and connections with others. When we feel seen, heard, and supported, we're more likely to feel safe and secure.

This perspective can be applied to various aspects of life, such as:

    - *Building strong relationships*: Nurturing connections with family, friends, and community can provide a sense of safety and support.

    - *Creating safe spaces*: Fostering environments where people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions can help build trust and connection.

    - *Prioritizing emotional well-being*: Recognizing the importance of emotional safety and taking steps to cultivate it can lead to greater overall well-being.

    Resources*

    - *Crisis Services*: Call or text 9-8-8 for support, available 24/7

    - *Canadian Mental Health Association*: Find local resources and support groups through CMHA's website

    - *Mental Health Week*: May 5-11, 2025, is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma

  • Mental Health: Why Do I Still Feel Empty Even When I’m Doing Everything Right?

Hey Everyone, thank you for popping in today.

Here at beer power self we love bringing you topics of interest that’s on everyone’s mind so I hope you sit back relax and enjoy today’s episode,:

Why do I still feel empty even when I’m doing everything right?

It’s somewhat taboo. No one wants to talk about it, especially when they’re successful when their family seems like they’re doing well and generally when everything in the outside looks beautiful and perfect. But, let’s break it down today with honesty

and please listen to the whole episode, follow and share, and help others to find this Space, we loves reaching the hearts of all of you especially you women, we know that in today’s society the noise is a lot fight through, but we’re doing it anyway.

“The Unspoken Emptiness: Breaking the Silence*

Have you ever felt like you're doing everything right, yet a nagging sense of emptiness persists? You're not alone. Many of us struggle to articulate this feeling, and even fewer dare to share it with others. It's as if we're expected to have it all together, to be grateful for what we have, and to silently bear the weight of our emotions.

The truth is, emptiness can be a deeply personal and complex experience. It can stem from various sources: unfulfilled expectations, lack of meaningful connections, or even the pressure to conform to societal norms. For women, in particular, this feeling can be exacerbated by the expectations placed upon them to prioritize others' needs over their own.

We're often encouraged to be caregivers, nurturers, and supporters, but rarely are we given permission to prioritize our own emotional well-being. This can lead to a sense of disconnection from our own desires, needs, and feelings. It's time to break the silence and acknowledge the emptiness that many of us feel.

    *The Taboo of Emotional Honesty*

Why is it that we struggle to discuss our emotions openly? Why do we feel like we're alone in our struggles? The answer lies in the stigma surrounding mental health and emotional vulnerability. We're often taught to put on a brave face, to hide our true feelings, and to maintain a facade of happiness.

But what about the moments when we're not happy? What about the times when we feel lost, alone, or uncertain? It's crucial that we create a safe space for ourselves and others to express these feelings without fear of judgment or rejection.

    *Embracing the Complexity of Emotions*

Emptiness is not a sign of weakness; it's a sign of humanity. It's okay to not be okay, and it's okay to feel empty even when everything seems fine on the surface. By acknowledging and exploring these feelings, we can begin to understand ourselves better and develop a more compassionate relationship with ourselves.

So, what can we do? We can start by being honest with ourselves and others about our emotions. We can create a support network of people who understand and validate our feelings. We can prioritize self-care and self-compassion, recognizing that our emotional well-being is just as important as our physical health.

    *A Call to Action*

Let's break the silence surrounding emptiness and emotional vulnerability. Let's create a culture where we can openly discuss our feelings without fear of judgment. Let's prioritize our emotional well-being and support one another in our journeys toward healing and self-discovery.

If you're feeling empty, know that you're not alone. Your feelings are valid, and there's support available. Let's take the first step toward healing and connection.

  • I’m Tired of Being Strong-“Who Holds the Strong Ones?”

Hi, it’s Deb, yes, I want thank you so much for being here🤗

Here’s my quote for this week:

“ you don’t always have to be the strong one. You are allowed to rest. To need. To receive. Strength is not how much you carry— it’s knowing , when to let yourself be carried”

Give yourself the time to take that in , to unload it, breathe it in, let it anchor deep within you.

Being strong isn’t about how much you can endure . it’s about knowing when to choose ease over ego. it’s about learning to trust that rest is productive..

It’s about remembering that you were never meant to do this all alone .

You see my friends we need to remember that , strength is not the absence of struggle.

Strength is how you love yourself through it .

You’re never weak for feeling tired . You are not broken for needing space.. and you do not need to hold it all, all the time.

Self empowerment is knowing you’re strong, but still able to ask for help .

It’s also knowing that you’re strong enough to also receive from others .

It’s also believing that being soft is your awareness that you enough and you can rest when you need it .

also knowing you’re worthy of being held, support and seen.

Please listen to the rest of the episode. I know you will enjoy it, and you can get immense value and benefit from it, if you learn to apply the simple steps in our lives, three or four simple steps in our life daily to help us to be consistent and persistent in the things we would like to do.

I want to thank you so much again for being here please share with a friend a strong woman that you know that needs to hear these words. Also, we want to share with others who also need your help.

  • You’re not Overreacting -You’re Undervalued

Hey you, yes you, welcome ……….

    Let’s chat……….

    You’re Not Overreacting — You’re Undervalued

    Let’s get something straight.

If that phrase hits you hard, there’s a reason.

You’re not “too emotional.” You’re not “too dramatic.”

    And you’re definitely not “overreacting.”

    What you are… is undervalued.

And I don’t just mean by other people.

I mean by systems. By roles. By your past.

    Sometimes… even by yourself.

We’ve been trained — yes, trained — to second-guess our instincts, soften our tone, play small, and shrink our power in the name of being polite, nice, or likable.

But let me ask you something real:

What if your reaction isn’t the problem — but the world’s inability to honor your worth is?

Here’s My Two Cents & Pearl of Wisdom

Some may call them …..”Truth Bomb”

    You’re not overreacting, my friend.

You’re reacting appropriately to years of being dismissed, unheard, overlooked, or constantly expected to carry it all without complaint.

That reaction? That emotion? That voice shaking in your throat?

It’s the sound of your spirit saying, “I’m done being silent.”

So, what now………..you get a choice

    Self-Empowerment Starts With This:

    1. Trust your instincts

If something feels off, it is. If you feel overlooked, you probably are.

Your gut is wise — and it’s time to stop apologizing for listening to it.

    1. Set boundaries like a woman who knows her worth

You don’t owe anyone access to your peace, your body, your energy, or your time.

Saying no doesn’t make you mean. It makes you clear.

    1. Seek out voices that don’t just cheer for you — they see you

Surround yourself with people who remind you:

    You are not too much.

You are enough — and then some.

What’s the Impact of This Truth?

When we name the real problem — undervaluation — we stop gaslighting ourselves.

    We begin to say:

“I am allowed to feel that. I am allowed to speak up. I do deserve better.”

And that’s the moment power returns to its rightful owner: YOU

    Because the truth is….

You are not here to be dismissed.

    You are here to disrupt.

    If You Need a Reminder…

    Say this out loud:

“I’m not overreacting — I’m finally reacting with the strength I’ve been holding back.”

“I’m not being too much — I’m being exactly who I was always meant to be.”

“I’m not just surviving — I’m rising, reclaiming, and reminding the world: I matter.”

Thank you so much for stopping and I hope that you listen to the episode because it has so much more to give that I know that will benefit you.

Follow and share, tell a friend, let’s build our community strong and grow together .

    You got this💕

  • Regaining Momentum

Hey its Deb, “be your empowered Self”

Here are a few highlights ……,.

    - a crucial aspect of achieving our goals - regaining momentum. The mid-leap slump can be a significant obstacle, but with the right strategies, we can overcome it and stay on track.

To regain momentum, we need to focus on building resilience and determination. These two qualities are essential for pushing through challenges and staying motivated.

*Regaining Momentum: Overcoming the Mid-Leap Slump*

Have you ever felt like you're making great progress towards your goals, only to hit a wall and lose momentum? You're not alone. The mid-leap slump is a common phenomenon that can derail even the most well-intentioned plans.

So, how can we gain momentum before spiraling too far into procrastination?

    *Building Resilience and Determination*
