BeezSheez Wrestling

With All Elite Wrestling coming to town for Dynamite, the subject of who would you like to see get a dark match comes up on this week’s edition of BeezSheez Wrestling. Producer Chris, Mecca and Mike pick 3 guys each they would like to see get their shot!

In a surprising revelation Jackson Conway is the cousin of “The Mecca” Shane Madison, which prompted Mike Davidson to issue a challenge (mostly in jest) to have the cousins face Davidson and his estranged cousin Vance Nevada in a match.

And which specialty match is your favourite? The guys answer theirs as part of the mailbag!

“The Mecca” Shane Madison has returned from a Mexican vacation and joins Mike Davidson and Producer Chris. Did AEW reschedule their event in Winnipeg from April 10th to May 1st, to give Kenny Omega more time to recover from diverticulitis? Mike Davidson believes so. Tickets had a slight uptick in February but were still a little under 3000. A very popular question of late has been who would be on the WCW Mount Rushmore. Inside the mailbag, Chris, Mike and Mecca give their choices of which 4 belong on there. And an update on the Canadian Independent scene.

“The Mecca” Shane Madison is MIA vacationing in Mexico and that left a hole to fill, and we did not disappoint this week with life long Super fan turn WPW General Manager James Korba. Korba shares his favourite and least favourite stories of his time as a fan. Including the time Mike Davidson was a total dick and the time Ernie Todd was nearly shy enough with his dick.

Korba has seen it all and isn’t afraid to offer his opinion. Also he offers up some answers about why as GM he is now making Bobby Schink’s life hell. And Mike Davidson opens himself up to a grilling and Korba does not hold back. Taking Davidson to task for a slideshow that attacked a rival wrestling promotion. Or the wrestling show that took place right after Erin Brockovich finished her set as a warmup act.

DEEZSEEZ OF THE LOCAL Reez

Heavily inspired by the Vice hit series Darkside of The Ring, the second instalment of DeezSeez of the Local Reez is back. In 2003, fresh off of leaving company he helped launch, Premier Championship Wrestling, Mike Davidson would be introduced to Jeff Dyck. In this edition of BeezSheez, Mike and “The Mecca” recount their initial dealings with the local entertainment entrepreneur. Hear some of the ideas that Dyck believed would make him a billionaire and how he would be a major influence in Mike Davidson’s life. In this edition, we cover the launch of Action Wrestling Entertainment, which was the first Canadian wrestling company to offer their programming via Pay Per View in 2005. They went on to have a TV contract with the launching Fight Network later that year. Jeff Dyck is the only angel investor in Winnipeg wrestling to put over a million dollars in play. And his story is a fascinating one.

This is an interesting one. Our host Mike Davidson offers clarity as to what the vision of BeezSheez is, and how it covers independent wrestling. An effort to soothe rising tensions as the former Promoter and TV producer has teased he may want to throw a show.

Winnipeg Pro Wrestling is on fire! A two night double sell out for the inaugural Voyageur Cup at the West End Cultural Centre is on the horizon. And the tournament line up is a who’s who of amazing talent in Canada.

Scott D’Amore is out as the President of TNA Wrestling. He is the most qualified wrestling executive free agent in a long time. And WWE, AEW, NWA and MLW should all be in on him heavy. But maybe Scott will focus on his own company Border City Wrestling. His status definitely has a huge Impact on the industry.

Tony Khan had a huge announcement… HUGE. Big Business. Was this another overhyped, underwhelming moment in AEW history?

After last weeks hard hitting show, Mike Davidson & “The Mecca” Shane Madison join Producer Chris to shoot the sheez, the BeezSheez. WPW & CWE are on fire in Winnipeg, All Star Wrestling is on fire in BC, Top Talent Wrestling in Alberta also makes the list of PIPING HOT independent wrestling companies. And a handful of other promotions also make the list. Is it the right time for Mike Davidson to launch BeezSheez Wrestling live events?! For the first time in the shows history, it’s “50/50”.

We follow up on the Vance Nevada in All Star Wrestling situation. Vance is really leaning into the idea of being the source of locker room controversy. The new ASW Trans-Canada Champion may not be the locker room leader, or perhaps it’s a case of everyone recognizing it could be real good business to all work together. Anytime a “veteran” locker room presence has tension with young talent, it usually leads to chaos.

Does All Elite Wrestling have to consider moving to smaller buildings? Or perhaps dropping their lowest price ticket from $65Cdn? Mike Davidson makes the case that the company that has lost the moment momentum in the current wrestling boon period might need to shift their entire focus to get back on track.

**DISCRETION ADVISED** Much of the subject matter is controversial, and the recording of this podcast was done in the early stages of information coming to light. Listener discretion is advised.

It’s a very heavy load of news on this week’s BeezSheez Wrestling. It seems pretty near impossible that Vince McMahon will ever be welcomed back in any way, shape or form, to WWE. The details are still emerging but what has come to light is the tarnishing end to a legacy. The guys talk about the sorted affair. Mike Davidson speculates that The Rock could be the next in line to assume Vince’s old post as Chairman of The Board of TKO.

And as we know about Mike he’s always kinda sorta right… sometimes. Will the WWE and TKO be able to turn the page without significant loss of sponsors or damage to their brand?

One person who has never been able to avoid considerable controversy in his career is Vance Nevada. Recently he cut a promo to build up a match that came under intense scrutiny leaving many to question his judgment. It even caused some tension in the locker room, but in typical Vance Nevada form, he goes from having heavy heat to winning the company’s top singles title in All Star Wrestling.

And we have a wrap up session on Primos Wrestling. Wrestlers are quitting, shooting power bombs on opponents, and the same opponent is absolutely no selling the power bomb…. It’s a tire fire of sort, but it leads to an argument between “The Mecca” Shane Madison and Mike Davidson over how successful and credible Primos Wrestling really is.

To listen to Mike Davidson, it’s a very sad era of independent wrestling in Winnipeg. The guys listen and review some promos done by Primos Wrestling featuring 29 year wrestling veteran Adam Knight and 25 year vet Cory Diamond and the reviews were not flattering. In fact, Mike Davidson goes off about the sad state of affairs. The intensity is palpable.

“The Mecca” Shane Madison offered up a full review of the TNA Hard to Kill pay per view which emanated from The Palms in Las Vegas. Unlike Mike’s tirade of Primos Wrestling, Madison had mostly positive things to say.

And we find out why Chris Maxwell would have a job for life if he ever went to work at All Elite Wrestling.

On the 25th anniversary of “The Mecca” Shane Madison’s first wrestling match we bring you the 90th episode of BeezSheez Wrestling. Mike Davidson speculates that the Primos Wrestling locker room might be struggling to unify ahead of a 4 show tour featuring the controversial Marty Scurll. You can see Primos in action this week in Wabowden, Winnipeg, Ashern and Swan River Manitoba. Shane Madison believes the booker Billy Blaze is beyond frustrated and might be ready to make his exit.

AEW has sold a little over 40 tickets in 8 days for their April 10th Winnipeg TV Taping for Dynamite. Mike Davidson suggests in a year where Tony Khan hopes to get a TV rights extension with Warner Brothers Discovery, Samoa Joe is potentially the worst choice for Heavyweight Champion.

Could you imagine BeezSheez host Mike Davidson as the new booker of Primos Wrestling? Despite being accused of being 14 years out of touch, Davidson outlines exactly how he would book the local wrestling company.

The Rock is back. Does that mean both Cody and CM Punk are going to be forced to sacrifice their positions as potential Wrestlemania main eventers?

What is the worst wrestling promotion in Winnipeg history? The boys have an answer…
