Starting from a little red caravan at the shore of Lake Burley Griffin, Broadburger changed the casual dining scene in Canberra and quickly expanded through an association with other Canberra-grown businesses such as Capital Brewing Co and now The Point at Southpoint.

With limited initial capital, he has over time developed his companies to have ownership in several commercial real estate properties in the ACT & NSW and a significant interest in storage in Australia & UK. Ian is one of the founding members of the Self Storage Association of Australasia and the Self Storage Association of Asia.

Ian has also always had an interest in fine cars. The current corporate collection of immediate post-war Bentley and Rolls Royce cars together with arguably having 5 of the world's fastest production sedans from 1951 - 2017 in a collection of approx 30 vehicles under his supervision and management is a testament to his passion.
