Definition of an Elevator:
1.  One who elevates everyone around them through their thoughts, words, and actions
2.  Someone who takes people to the top with them

Levels of performance:
1.  Poor
2.  Average 
3.  Good (top 20%)
4.  Great (top 50%)
5.  Elite (top 1%)
6.  Elevator (top .001%)

⭐️Priorities 
Amateur: says yes to almost everything
Professional: says no to some things
Elevator:  says no to almost everything that doesn’t have to do with their top priorities and most important goals

⭐️Do Hard Things 
Amateur:  avoids hard things at all costs
Professional:  does some hard things, but avoids the hardest things
Elevator:  runs towards the hardest things all the time because they know that’s what it takes to elevate the fastest and to become the best

Amateur:  spends little to no time studying greatness

3.  Respond quickly and positively to phone calls, text messages and emails from friends, family, and colleagues.
Amateur:  responds days later, if they even respond at all
Professional:  gets back to you within the day or a few days most of the time
Elevator:  responds the same day or within 24 hours almost all the time

4.  Do a little extra, go above and beyond, overdeliver.
Amateur:  does the bare minimum or less less than expected
Professional:  does what’s expected the vast majority of the time
Elevator:  overdelivers almost all the time

5.  Be short to the point with your words.  
Amateur:  rambles on without a purpose
Professional:  gets to the point the vast majority of the time
Elevator:  chooses their words extremely carefully and uses as little words as possible

6.  Be extremely positive and polite and avoid Mindless Negativity:  gossiping, complaining, blaming, criticizing, condemning, venting.

7.  Be direct and brutally honest.

Get it out of your head and discuss and/or role play what you’ll say with a trusted advisor such a coach, a mentor, your boss, a therapist, or a respected friend or family member.

3.  High Warmth 

This is conversation, not a confrontation.  Listen.  Strive to create a win-win situation for the both of you.  Forgive.  Show empathy and compassion.  Be respectful.  Let them keep their dignity.  Move forward.  Give and serve.  Love.

•Do ONE hard thing you didn’t want to do.

Action steps:  1) Identify the one thing you’ve been avoiding doing the most each day and do that, 2) identify your number one most important task each day and complete it, 3) spend 5 to 15 minutes a day learning something new personally or professionally

3. Surround yourself with confident, positive people who believe in you and also give you honest and direct feedback

•Attitudes are contagious…you become who you surround yourself with most.
•Spend time with people who celebrate your successes.
•Direct and honest feedback is a gift.  

Action step:  Write down the 20 people you spend the most time with. Identify the people who drain your confidence and energy, and address them and/or minimize or eliminate time spent with them.  Identify the people who are most confident, who believe in you, and who challenge you to be your best, and thank them and spend the most time with them.
