  • Do employees suffer when they can't discuss racial bias in society at work?

What are the results when people of color can't express their feelings about race or social issues that occurred outside of work with their peers? The reality is unsettling.

38% of black professionals feel that it is never acceptable at their companies to speak out about their experiences of bias; a silence that makes them more than twice as vulnerable to feelings of isolation and alienation in the workplace. Black employees who feel muzzled are nearly three times as likely as those who don’t to have one foot out the door, and they’re 13 times as likely to be disengaged.

  • Are You Impeding The Progress Of Your Organizations Inclusion Plan?

Virtually, all people from the C-suite, consultants, and frontline employees know less about diversity and inclusion than they think. Regrettably, people with authoritarian personalities tend to become more racist when faced with an inclusion message, not less. Their personal biases i.e. prejudices create a backlash triggered by the messaging that differences among people are may be valuable. But not yet. There is a deeply tribal aspect of human nature that reacts negatively to this message. However, us versus them concepts maintain the status quo. In this podcast, we discuss what "seasoned" diversity experts don't know about diversity, equity, and inclusion. If they don't know they can't fix it. Listen now and share.

  • McDonalds Ties Executive Pay To Diversity

The burger chain is tying a significant portion of executive pay to adding more people of color to the leadership ranks. This is a bold step of transparency that more companies should follow. Certainly, targets and timetables can be tricky, but, this isn't unusual for Mcdonald's.
