    🔴Some intent on breath-control, blocking the movement of the in-breath and out-breath, sacrifice the in-breath in the out-breath, and similarly, sacrifice the out-breath in the in-breath.

    अपरे नियताहारा: प्राणान्प्राणेषु जुह्वति |
    सर्वेऽप्येते यज्ञविदो यज्ञक्षपितकल्मषा: || 30||
    apare niyatāhārāḥ prāṇān prāṇeṣhu juhvati
    sarve ’pyete yajña-vido yajña-kṣhapita-kalmaṣhāḥ
    🔴Yet others, with strictly regulated diet, sacrifice vital breaths in vital breaths. All those are conversant with sacrifice, having destroyed their sins by acts of sacrifice.

    🔴Some Yogins offer sacrifices to deities; others sacrifice in the fire of Brahman. by means of the sacrifice itself.

    श्रोत्रादीनीन्द्रियाण्यन्ये संयमाग्निषु जुह्वति |
    शब्दादीन्विषयानन्य इन्द्रियाग्निषु जुह्वति || 26||
    śhrotrādīnīndriyāṇyanye sanyamāgniṣhu juhvati
    śhabdādīn viṣhayānanya indriyāgniṣhu juhvati
    🔴Others sacrifice the senses, hearing, etc., in the fires of restraints; yet others sacrifice objects like sound in the fires of the senses.

    सर्वाणीन्द्रियकर्माणि प्राणकर्माणि चापरे |
    आत्मसंयमयोगाग्नौ जुह्वति ज्ञानदीपिते || 27||
    sarvāṇīndriya-karmāṇi prāṇa-karmāṇi chāpare
    ātma-sanyama-yogāgnau juhvati jñāna-dīpite
    🔴Yet others sacrifice all sense-activities and all activities of vital breaths in the fire of self-restraint, kindled by knowledge.

    द्रव्ययज्ञास्तपोयज्ञा योगयज्ञास्तथापरे |
    स्वाध्यायज्ञानयज्ञाश्च यतय: संशितव्रता: || 28||
    dravya-yajñās tapo-yajñā yoga-yajñās tathāpare
    swādhyāya-jñāna-yajñāśh cha yatayaḥ sanśhita-vratāḥ
    🔴Other ascetics, subject to severe disciplines, sacrifice their material possessions, their penances, spiritual exercises, prescribed lessons, and knowledge.

    brahmaiva tena gantavyaṁ brahma-karma-samādhinā
    🔴The means of the sacrificial offering is Brahman; Brahman is the oblation placed in the fire of Brahman and by Brahman is the sacrifice made. This sacrificer, who concentrates on the act that is Brahman, reaches Brahman alone.

    🔴Giving up attachment to the fruits of works, eternally content, independent, the man, engaged in works as he is, does nothing at all.

    निराशीर्यतचित्तात्मा त्यक्तसर्वपरिग्रह: |
    शारीरं केवलं कर्म कुर्वन्नाप्नोति किल्बिषम् || 21||
    nirāśhīr yata-chittātmā tyakta-sarva-parigrahaḥ
    śhārīraṁ kevalaṁ karma kurvan nāpnoti kilbiṣham
    🔴Free from wxpectations, controlling mind and self, renouncing all possessions, one who does but an exclusive form of bodily work incurs no sin.

    यदृच्छालाभसन्तुष्टो द्वन्द्वातीतो विमत्सर: |
    सम: सिद्धावसिद्धौ च कृत्वापि न निबध्यते || 22||
    yadṛichchhā-lābha-santuṣhṭo dvandvātīto vimatsaraḥ
    samaḥ siddhāvasiddhau cha kṛitvāpi na nibadhyate
    🔴Content with what is gained by chance, beyond dualities, rid of competitive spirit, equanimous in gain and loss, one is not bound in spite of working.

    Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Verses 14-17, from the fourth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. This series of talks unfolds the highest truths of Vedanta through the study of "The song of God".
    🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 14:
    न मां कर्माणि लिम्पन्ति न मे कर्मफले स्पृहा |
    इति मां योऽभिजानाति कर्मभिर्न स बध्यते || 14||
    na māṁ karmāṇi limpanti na me karma-phale spṛihā
    iti māṁ yo ’bhijānāti karmabhir na sa badhyate
    🔴Works do not taint me; I desire not their fruits. Whoso knows Me to be such, is not bound by works.
    🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 15:
    एवं ज्ञात्वा कृतं कर्म पूर्वैरपि मुमुक्षुभि: |
    कुरु कर्मैव तस्मात्त्वं पूर्वै: पूर्वतरं कृतम् || 15||
    evaṁ jñātvā kṛitaṁ karma pūrvair api mumukṣhubhiḥ
    kuru karmaiva tasmāttvaṁ pūrvaiḥ pūrvataraṁ kṛitam
    🔴 Knowing thus was done by ancient seekers after liberation. Therefore you too do only work, as was done by the ancients in bygone days.
    🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 16:
    किं कर्म किमकर्मेति कवयोऽप्यत्र मोहिता: |
    तत्ते कर्म प्रवक्ष्यामि यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् || 16||
    kiṁ karma kim akarmeti kavayo ’pyatra mohitāḥ
    tat te karma pravakṣhyāmi yaj jñātvā mokṣhyase ’śhubhāt
    🔴What is work? What is non-work? In respect of these questions the sages even are deluded. Therefore, I shall elucidate the nature of work, by knowing which you will be delivered from evil.
    🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 17:
    कर्मणो ह्यपि बोद्धव्यं बोद्धव्यं च विकर्मण: |
    अकर्मणश्च बोद्धव्यं गहना कर्मणो गति: || 17||
    karmaṇo hyapi boddhavyaṁ boddhavyaṁ cha vikarmaṇaḥ
    akarmaṇaśh cha boddhavyaṁ gahanā karmaṇo gatiḥ
    🔴Indeed you ought to know about work; also you ought to know about bad work; and, besides you ought to know about non-work. Profound is the course of work.
