BSP Ep. 85 – Giving with intention with Jimmy Rex

Jimmy Rex comes to the show this week to sit and speak with Mike about his story on his purpose and passion on projects he’s worked on to help give back. A real estate investor by trade, he’s morphed into a speaker, promotor, inspirer but a giver of love, traveler and, and overall, just an amazing human!!!

Jimmy is the creator of events like “Sub for Santa”, “$100 or $1000 Dollar Dinner Club” and other events that have made an impact for people with a struggling story. He looks for opportunities all over the place for him to serve. He explains how there’s an internal reward and it’s a life that is very fulfilling to see such an impact on people’s lives.

Mike and Jimmy discuss dynamics of networking in general. You can’t ask a request from someone, if you haven’t served them a few times first. Call it a bucket, or a bank account or good standing. If you haven’t made a deposit with someone on something first, you can’t expect to make a withdrawal or request for something until that’s happened.

He doesn’t live his life with expectation, and he advises everyone to do the same. He remains open to what the universe has to offer. Appreciating the hurdles and challenges and of course opportunities in a variety of pathways. Jimmy advises you to have a vision of what type of life you want to live and what you want to accomplish.

Ep. 84 – Influencer Marketing with Inbal Claudio

This week, Mike sits down with his sister-in-law Inbal Claudio.

Inbal shares her story and journey into entrepreneurship. She has started a candle company, Goldwick Candles just over two years ago. They share how many common struggles with just starting a business can be a scarcity mindset of thinking on ways to fail before even giving themselves a chance. Inbal stresses how important confidence is in finding your uniqueness within yourself and your product.

Initially her go-to-market strategy was finding influencers within social media to help her promote her product on a larger scale. However, challenges such as time and cost created struggles for her to get this going. Through her experience of this with her candles, it led her to an idea to create a platform called, Like-Minded, which is about to launch very soon this summer. Like-Minded Collective is an online platform for small businesses to find influencers to hire them to help promote their businesses. Yes, there are other sites out there that typically have minimums and cater to the large-scale businesses but her vision is a bit different. Like-Minded is geared to the start-up, small business owner as a way for them to connect to potential influencers out there to help spread the word of their business. Interested in learning more? Ep. 83 - How to go from individual contributor to leader w/ Ramon Casaus

This week, Mike hosts Ramon Casaus, a top-notch real estate investor, trainer, insurance broker, online coach and leader!!

Ramon shares how he used realty as his tool or vehicle to gain financial freedom and get his time back within his life and career.

The Misunderstood Leader, is a title he is playing with on a future next book for himself. Ramon shares his thoughts on the show surrounding the meaning behind it. To start, he’s had to make pivots within himself as success came along and leadership developed. For example, he hired a consulting business on behavioral science, to help him gain control on topics like emotions, public speaking, frustrations, temperament and more. How to lead employees and create a team culture without turning people off was a skill he needed to polish and grow into in order to refine what he was after in a working environment.

Mike articulates how his perspective on being a leader with an internal team versus clients can differ. He has equally had to learn to be the emotional bear and take on any uncertainty off their shoulders. Being a leader, you are constantly being judged on body language, regular conversation and in general your behavioral environment.

The breakthrough of salesperson or individual contributor into a leader can be a mixture of the two. You can be a high performing salesperson to help fund your dreams and simultaneously lead by example to foster a dream big, achieve big reality.

His advice – establish your passion and purpose first in entrepreneurship and finding your lane, the answers will come!

Big Stud Podcast Ep. 82 - How to add more value w/ Jason Graybeal

This week’s show hosts guest Jason Graybeal of Graybeal Group Inc, an insurance agency out of Washington state. Mike and Jason start off by sharing Jason’s background and how he differentiates himself from a very competitive insurance market. His main goal is to add the most value possible, not only to his clients but to the staff that works for him, so that everyone wins and is happy.

His 18+ year journey within the insurance industry was not short of failures and trials and tribulations. Jason outlines how most agencies will try and get your business just on price and coverage, which he says he can beat anytime, but is looking to add more for his clients.

When in doubt, ASK your employees or your potential clients what they are looking for. Trying to guess on what they want in a company culture or business could be impossible, and assumptions won’t go far, so ask.

Internally, Jason elaborates on how to find and keep good people at your company. It starts with establishing what your strengths and weaknesses are, and what could get you to the next level with the right personnel. He’s sourced competitors, asked what it would take for key salespeople or personnel to come on board, to a rewarding environment.

They both agree that reach for the fulfillment and freedom and impact, trying to be the best version of yourself. The money will pay back and reward those that are putting in the work!
