What everybody wants: to come home.

Across the city, grieving families find themselves able to see their loved-ones one last time. But are these creatures really them? How long can this last? And what does it all mean?

"Reminiscent of Stephen King at his best. Best read by sunlight." (Independent on Sunday)

Loved Let the Right on it - this wasn't so great

What did you like most about Handling the Undead?

A really great way to look at the living dead in a different way and how people cope with the loss of a loved one...loved the characters and the story behind their loss...

What other book might you compare Handling the Undead to, and why?

This is no normal 'zombie' book and therefore is not a 'horror'..more a book that deals with human emotion and dealing with loss..

What aspect of Steven Paceys performance might you have changed?

The way he says GRIMACE!! It annoyed me beyong belief..more so that it should have to be fair..plus really not keen on the mixture of accents considering it was was based in another country..

Plus the inflections were wrong in a number of sections..but I am just being picky!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No - perfect for my long days behind the wheel...

Boring

What disappointed you about Handling the Undead?

I was expecting more, it didn't amount to much in the end, too much left unknown.

Would you ever listen to anything by John Ajvide Lindqvist again?

Yes the narrators voice was good, that's probably the only reason I was able to carry on with the story.

How could the performance have been better?

Pronouncing the word 'grimace' would have been helpful as its used so much in the story.

You didnt love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The premise of the story was good, I just didn't love any of the characters or how it ended.

Any additional comments?

This could have been acceptable as a short story, maybe

Please don't waste your time or credits or money

Would you try another book from Drac Von Stoller and/or Michael Adashefski?

no

What was most disappointing about Drac Von Stoller???s story?

I'm not certain for whom this was written. I'd expect such thin repetitive stories from a 10 year old but I would never pay money for them (again). Even young adult horror stories can be fun but these are neither well written nor fun. I feel like the victim of a terrible hoax.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Given the material, the narrator could never have polished these stories into gems but I get the impression he was trying to hide bad writing with enthusiastic overacting. I started to think this whole thing was a poorly done parody.

What character would you cut from 5 Short Stories from '31 Horrifying Tales from the Dead'?

There are no characters, just barely described undeveloped actors in bad drama.

Any additional comments?

I can usually find something nice to say because an author and a narrator deserve a certain amount of respect for completing a work of art but this is just bad.

Interesting title and start, but then you reach the end.... wait a minute. Was that an "end?" or a 'to be continued.' Com e on Drac, you can't leave hanging. What was that anyway?

Title: Curse of the Evil Fairies Fort

Author: Drac Von Stoller

Narrator: Michael Adashefski

Format: Unabridged

Length: 18 mins

Language: English

Release date: 05-11-12

Publisher: Drac Von Stoller

Genres: Fiction, Horror

Publisher's Summary:

Long ago, tales of fairies were very much real and respected among many Irish families for fear that they may be cursed. Patrick and Sophie O'Brian were direct descendants of a family that had fallen victim to one such curse. Since they only knew of the tales that were told by their parents and were not directly affected by the superstitions, they did not really believe in any of them. They would often joke about the evil fairies that lived in the forts just miles from where they lived. Their father would tell bedtime stories to their three children Seamus, Niall, and Aine. The children often had nightmares about fairies taking their souls and coming back as a changeling to torment their family. Then the fairies would die shortly thereafter with their parents never realizing that it isn't their child.
