This week we’re recapping a Night Vale episode where Silas the Thief rants about his ex girlfriend, and a Lore Olympus episode where Hermes takes up all the time on the stand.

Hang on. We’ve been here before.

But yes, first we discuss the Night Vale news that gives us A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OUTLOOK on one of the main characters, and then we talk about Lore Olympus and how we hope Thanatos is okay following the Daphne situation, but not too okay because he really is a narc.

And then every time we start to close out the episode we think of something new, including but not limited to: Under the Skin (Meh), the T’challa episode of What If (yay!), Chris Pratt and John Mulaney and para-social relationships, Y The Last Man, Saga, Terry Moore, rewatching Loki, and taking Transformers off our pull list WE DON’T KNOW WHO WE ARE ANYMORE.

It’s the first Vacation Edition of Binary System in over two years! With all of the amazing content that we need to get caught up on, it’s no surprise to anybody that we’re taking the time to watch TV and movies that we’ve already seen. Multiple times.

But, you know, pandemic, serotonin, comfort watching. So Elizabeth’s rewatching Peaky Blinders and Kathryn rewatched Sunshine, but we did at least catch the new Hawkeye trailer, and Kathryn saw the first episode of Marvel’s What If.

AND of course we read the latest Lore Olympus, which is mostly Hades being sweet and nurturing and spinning fantasies for Persephone about apartments with heated floors because he knows what she likes.

(Also we’re looking for board game recommendations for our family trip to the mountains. Tabletop fans, go nuts.)

If you know us you know that we’re always interested in the newest movies and TV shows that have hit the nerd world! We just wait six months or more to watch them. Which is why Elizabeth only just now got around to watching the first episode of Lovecraft Country, and instead of watching current movies she’s rewatching Rise of Skywalker. And she doesn’t even LIKE Rise of Skywalker.

Kathryn at least is doing better, in that she and her friends played a subscription game that’s much newer: Hunt a Killer: Blair Witch. So we talk about that and collaborative puzzle games and how there’s no shame in being the team member who’s bad at puzzles and just takes notes instead.

And of course we wrap up with Lore Olympus, which is back after a two-week hiatus and dear lord the wait to find out what happens to Daphne is going to kill us. Also: GET BENT, APOLLO, GOD.
