So why is child sex abuse in the Catholic Church so rampant? 

In this episode of Motive & Method, Tim & Xanthe take a look at the Bindoon Boys Town, a re-homing program and an isolated institution run by the Christian Brothers, a catholic order.

Bindoon Boys Town that took in as many as 130 000 young boys from around the world under the wing of the Catholic Church. But it was only years later that news would emerge that the boys living there were routinely being abused by the men that were meant to protect and raise them. 

Tim & Xanthe then speak to Peter Gogarty - an academic at the University of Newcastle, who shares his own story about his experience with child sexual abuse under the Catholic Church.
