Have you ever wondered what happened to the other people that were behind the creation of Night of the Living Dead?
We all know what became of George Romero. He directed the original and the follow ups and had a very successful career in the film industry. The co-writer John Russo ended up with the rights to write and make films with the title of "Return of the Living Dead" while George was able to use the title with the phrase "Of The Dead". Russo sold his script and rights to producer Tom Fox who trashed the entire thing and just retained the title. It was a success and spawned four sequels. Romero continued with his series up until his death.
But what became of the man who played the original zombie in Night of the Living Dead?
Well he played that zombie again, in 1988's film disaster....Flesh Eater.
Bill Hinzman also wrote and directed this mess of a movie. The effects are decent except for the actual face make up of the zombies. The gore effects are fairly good for the budget and are still fun to look at. The acting falls somewhere between middle school drama class and porn. The story and pacing are very puzzling to put it kindly.
That being said, the film is so bad its great. If you like gore and bad acting then you are in luck.
