This week we are continuing our focus on Mental Health by talking about the relationship between our fitness and our mental health. We’re discussing ways to push through a lack of motivation along with the ongoing efforts and initiatives to promote mental health and wellness in the fitness industry.
This week we are talking about self care practices and how they can help our mental health and wellbeing. We are discussing the swiss cheese method of self-care, different ways to practice it, and how complicated house plants are (yeah, gardens are a theme this week).
Make sure to like us, rate us, all the things!
This week we are exploring anxiety and stress and their relationship to fitness. We are talking about ways to help reduce stress and anxiety using fitness, as well as some of the (RUDE) injustices still present in our country….
Let us know how you use fitness to relieve stress or if you tried any of the tips we offered in the episode!
We are kicking off Mental Health May with a conversation about mindfulness and meditation. We are talking about our own experiences (and failures) with meditation and tips and tricks for how to incorporate meditation into your everyday life.
It can be useful to try a guided meditation to get started. Amber really likes Down Dog Meditation app or Headspace. And of course, the obligatory plug for the Hatch clock.
On this week’s episode we are talking strategy on how we can all make fitness spaces more inclusive and body positive! We want everyone to be their strongest, healthiest, most empowered selves and we are going to try to help you get there.
Tell us about your favorite fitness space, or what you would like to see that is missing in fitness spaces!
This week we are exploring what an athletic body looks like (spoiler - any body can be an athletic body). We are talking about Amber’s incredible "athleticism", professional athletes that don’t fit the stereotype, and the impact the pressures of being an athlete can have on folks.
This week we are continuing to talk about body positivity by exploring body shaming and how to embrace self love. We talk about our own perceived body image and challenge each other on those thoughts. Yes, we are also working on loving all of ourselves! And yes, there are more Lion king references, obviously.
This week we are taking a look at what constitutes a “summer body” (hint: it’s whatever body you have). We’re taking a brief look at beauty standards throughout history and how these societal expectations affect women’s mental and physical health.
And, of course, a reminder not to panic with summer coming. Your body is an amazing machine no matter what size it is!
This week we are talking about the benefits and challenges of female bodies in fitness spaces. We chat about some physical advantages female bodies have and the challenges we face entering fitness spaces.
Please let us know if you have any good female fitness clothing suggestions!!
