BJ & Bill The Podcast

This week - football season is underway (at least on the college level - NFL is this week!), so the boys have plenty to talk about, sports-wise. Did you favorite team win? For Bill, it was a very good Week One for all his Florida teams.

Also, BJ has not one but TWO formerly unknown stories of his early years. One memory of being in a country band, and how he and his band-mates were almost famous. But not quite.

The other story is a little closer to home, and closer to modern times. A few special details that will be in BJ's upcoming book, so tune in and get a special preview!

See you next week!

This feels like some reality-show TV commercial: "This week, on a very special and touching edition of the BJ and Bill Podcast...." What's so special about this week's show? Not much, really. Just that our man BJ is fresh out of the hospital after his latest surgery, and he's still a bit loopy on painkiller meds. Yes, it makes for a interesting discussion! Try to follow along...

Also - and this is pretty crazy - how about an AI (artificial intelligence) version of BJ and Bill? It's not only possible, we officially debut the AI-generated voices of the guys this week! How does it sound to you? Let us know... Thankfully, there's only a small sample of the computer-generated boys... most of the show is the real humans! (grin)

See you next week!

This week, a few big updates, among other things. BJ is going in for a little bit of "body-maintenance" surgery. Not related to his heart, but still important. Also, progress on BJ's upcoming book publication, and lots more.

There's also a discussion of jobs being replaced by Artificial Intelligence.. something the boys have no worries about. What machine would want to replace a couple of old, former disk jockeys? Still, there are ways. to bring AI into the podcasting world already in the works!

This week, one of the "best concerts ever" BJ has ever seen...his words. And it came in the most unexpected place!

Also, an update on BJ's vacation time in upstate Georgia. Now that he's officially back, safe and sound at home, he can let his wife know that he actually talked about being away from home on the previous episode.

How did his electric car perform for the road trip? Check out his interesting insights.

This week, BJ may or may not be traveling to northen Georgia for a well-deserved break. We say "might be" because he doesn't want his wife to know ... or something like that. You'll need to listen to find out exactly what's going on. Honestly, even we're not sure...

Also, after a long absence, a bit more discussion about our favorite travel rest-stop, Buc-ee's. After all, if someone may or may not be traveling, a pit stop along the way is going to be needed, and where better than the friendly beaver? And yes, turns out, it really is all about the bathrooms. Again, tune in to find out what that's all about.

Finally, a deep-dive into the best way to enjoy cornbread. No fancy explanation needed here. Just be sure to bring your favorite honey!

This week, memories of a couple of big names from our "era" who unfortunately have recently passed. Tiip of the podcast hat to our lost friends, wrestler Hulk Hogan and rock icon Ozzie Osborne. Both total legends in their respective specialities, both loved by fans world-wide. You will be missed, friends. Or in Hogan's case, should we say "brothers." Yes, that fits...

That and plenty of other good stories this week, as always.

In case you've never heard of it, BJ also does a "side hustle" podcast (this one being the Main Thing, of course!).. it's called "The Gift of Life," and it's all about BJ's personal journey through his heart transplant and lots more. It also includes stories from others on a similar path - either as organ recipients, or family members telling the stories of domations be loved ones.

All that to say, there's a good progress report on BJ's book about his story. It shoudl be coming out in the fall. In addition, BJ has a great story of a "coincidental" meeting with a mom who lost a child, and made the amazing decision to donate her loved ones' organs.

PS - We put "coincidental" in quotes... mostly because we're of the belief that there's no such thing as coincidences in life... just the Universe giving us little winks and nudges along the way.

That and plenty of other good stories this week, as always.

Artificial Intelligence is taking over Planet Earth... but the good news is that. so far, at least, BJ and Bill are still doing their podcast live and completely Ai-free each week! Is that a good thing? Now we're not so sure...

BJ and Bill talk about putting Ai to worko for good, and not evil (looking at you, mad scientists). We wonder how long it will be before computers can do just about anything, any job... and what does that mean for young people going to college and looking ahead to working life. It's going to be "interesting," that's for sure.

A very important "man-centric" sports question this week for the BJ and Bill Podcast: Is it cool for a guy to wear a WNBA - ladyies hoops - jersey? Asking for a friend, as they say. Actually, BJ is asking it himself, because he's thinking if he wants to get himself a - you guessed it! - Caitlin Clark / Indiana Fever jersey.

A guy wearing a ladies jersey... cool or not? Of course, we know the other side of that coin. That female fans of all sports wear all the guys' jerseys from their favorite teams. So, it should be not big deal, right? What do you think?

Also this week, BJ continues to make vaca plans, but he's finding all the spots he was interested in are already pretty booked up for the upcoming weeks. How about you and the family... any big getaway plans for the summer? Let us knopw on the Faceook page. Just do a search for "BJ and Bill the Podcast." You'll find our page.

This week, a bit more about the current state of affairs in the WNBA. Seems the league and players just don't recognize how one player - our fav, Caitlin! - is pulling up the entire league, product, and most especially, advtertising revenue! It's an interesting story in personal dyamics and business, for sure.

Also this week, we set the WayBack Machine again, and talk about early dating wins and losses for both BJ and Bill. Needless to say, for a couple of nerdy guys, mostly losses....
