    Good Morning Nashville ☀️
New week, new episode guys. We are super excited to bring back our loyal listeners to another episode, and to the ones just now tuning in? We welcome you to the Black Men Vent Too Podcast ✌🏽 the ONLY black father-and-son podcast in all of Nashville, Tennessee. 🏆 Let’s get into it!
WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN OUR SEASON TITLED “Co-Parenting Conspiracies”. The goal of this month/season is to highlight and bring awareness to how co-parenting can both positively and negatively affect your mental health as a black man. Stay tuned this season because there will also be black women on to make sure we bring an equal balance to our platform .
Our first guest up is none other than Mr. Alex Brooks ✌🏽. Alex is a proud father to his son and cherishes every moment he has with him. On today’s episode, since we already have the venting topic at hand, Alex talks about his experience with co parenting thus far. He highlights a lot of different things as he talks about how rough it can be when emotions are involved between the two partners from the relationship that once was . Then he brings up one important word … “humility”. No matter the co-parenting dynamics, there should be a sense of humility between both parents to get together and do what’s needed for the betterment of the child. We thank Alex for his time, such a good episode to start off this season … don’t miss it! Tap in today and share with a friend?

We once again, have to give a shoutout to the “For The Fathers” annual event we took part in attending this past summer . So many people we met, and once again we appreciate Tyjuan Garth for allowing us to be a part of this event.
Presenting to some, introducing to others, Ms. Rebekah Robertson 🌹 joins us on the BMVT podcast! ✌🏽 It is so much to unpack in today’s episode . Rebekah, born in Los Angeles but does claim Nashville as her home, graduated from both Hunters Lane High School and is a proud graduate of the well-know HBCU being Fisk University. Ms. Robertson is a real estate developer, building homes from the ground up, and prides herself as being one of a few black women to be a part of this industry. On today’s episode, she starts off her venting by talking about “triggers”. Growing up, she states that she never thought therapy was necessary . As black people we’ve been conditioned to just not talk about things, and handle it on our own. Rebekah’s best friend of 20 years she states was there for her through the good, and the bad; which helped with her mental health 🧠 a lot. Nashville, Rebekah has one hell of a testimony. This young lady has endured SO much, but we’re proud to have had Ms. Robertson come and vent on our platform.

Mr. Hill has played football all over the world … from the IFL , to the AFL , and even did a stint with the Indianapolis Colts as he continues today to chase his dreams of bigger and better . Trey vents about a specific toe injury that, not necessarily set him back, but it challenged his mental health . Raz Armstrong 🏀 joins us to vent on the BMVT Podcast! We really had a great time talking to Raz and hearing his story . A young man, born in Dallas, TX but raised in Nashville, was born with so much talent . Coming out of East Nashville Magnet High School, when Raz was on the court … and now enrolled at Cumberland University , he is often known by others as “Michael Myers”. The nickname comes from how Raz really just allows the game to come to him, and will stare you down with no words to show that he means business 😤
His vision going into Cumberland University is to branch off into Economics/Accounting, but his back up plan would be to possibly try nursing school and become a travel nurse. One thing about Raz … he has a plan for his future, he’s determined, and he has a story. Tap in to today’s episode! ✌🏽

  • BMVT : Venting With Roderick Johnson, Jr. ✌🏽
    Good Evening Nashville ☀️
Back at it again! Super excited to be a part of you guys Tuesday evening. Man, let’s get right into this episode guys, we KNOW you all will enjoy this one on today 🙏🏽
It was at an event in Nashville recognized as the “For The Father’s” event where local black men were honored and recognized for their works and efforts in the city of Nashville and beyond. At this event, a 17 year old young man by the name of Roderick Johnson, Jr. was being honored and awarded, we couldn’t be more than excited to bring him on the show today .
As we get off into today’s episode we learn a lot about Roderick, his family, and his upbringing . Nashville, he is a 17 year old minister and now Youth Pastor at the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Breonus Mitchell. Now there are a lot of young black 17 year olds , not many are preaching the Word of God. We get off into the venting session with Roderick and guys, he’s truly a humble soul. He credits a lot of where he’s at today to his parents . Roderick’s late father was well known, respected, and loved as he vented with us on how his 11 years with him impacted his maturation as a man .
“My trauma grew me up”, says the Youth Pastor.
Which is such a powerful statement to come from a young man his age. This episode, however, comes with a lot of laughs and good energy as we get into conversations about Roderick being now the only man in the house, dating life, and so much more! Make sure you guys share today’s episode and leave a review to let us know how we did! ✌🏽
