Dr. Derek Novacek is an Assistant Project Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and a Fellow at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. His research focuses on the sociocultural factors that contribute to mental health disparities and promote mental health equity in racial/ethnic minorities as well as individuals who have experienced homelessness. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Dr. Novacek works part-time as a therapist at Therapy Lab, a group private practice based in downtown Los Angeles.
