If you've got your email list going... you're feeling good about your lead magnet... your newsletter is consistent... and you're looking for that next level email action - I got you!
The best email marketing studies for best practices and effectiveness are in the ecommerce space - and that's why we as bloggers should look there for ideas that we can apply to our business model.
Int his episode I break down FIVE ways ecommerce companies are leveraging email pop ups -- and I tell you how to hack those ideas for your blog - EVEN IF you are not selling products.
1. Implement remarketing by persona
2. Send people to a new post from a (related) post that's getting traffic
3. Showcase new posts to returning readers
4. Highlight your customers and direct people to their posts/giveaways page
5. Grab more info with a multi-step pop up
Many of these ideas can be applied with multiple email marketing systems, but MY tool of choice is Drip.
Here is the YouTube video I did highlighting the best practices I mention in this episode, about the 1 billion pop up study from Drip.

In April of this year, we lost about 3% of our traffic overnight.
I thought it was the Helpful Content Update, but after a consultation with Dr Marie Haynes it became more apparent that it was the Reviews Update.
But wait - I have less than 5 product reviews on my site! How can that be??
This in-depth episode reveals three of the eye-opening insights that my consultation revealed.
I'll share you how I thought I was doing all the "right" things when it came to demonstrating experience - and the specific tasks me and my team are prioritizing for recovery.
Buckle up friends...we're getting in the weeds.
Not to scare you or confuse you... but in an effort to be transparent and helpful, I'm dishing the deets. Bring a pen!

Podcasting. You, like me, are blown away by the potential podcasts hold for our business.
I know this because our previous podcast episode (in my mini series on takeaways from TBEX) is our most popular episode, by far.
That is why I am thrilled that Gary Arndt (who encouraged my foray into the practice of podcasting) agreed to sit with us for an extended interview.
His podcast, Everything Everywhere Daily, reaches over 1MM listeners every month! So yes, he knows a thing or two about them.
I hope you'll listen as I ask Gary about how (and why) he transitioned into podcasting after running such a successful blog.
I ask him about how he came to know that this was the right move for his business, and how he ties the podcast with his blog.
We talk about monetization strategies, selecting a subject for your podcast, CPM data, why daily is such a good idea... and so much more.
Every second with Gary brings nuggets of insight and information that can help you grow your own show.
Grab a coffee... put on your running shoes... whatever you need to do to settle into this episode. It's a long one, and it's jam-packed with goodies!
