Time on page... dwell time... avg session duration.
These are all kissing cousins, and while they are extremely important KPIs for bloggers, they are not direct ranking indicators.
Wild, right?
SO why are they important??
And if they are so important, how do we increase time on page?
And how do we measure time on page or dwell time?
Awesome questions - and they are all answered in today's podcast!

If you have seasonal traffic, it's time to stop complaining about the "down time" and do something about t.
The answer for me was to build topic clusters, or silos of content, that would work well during those off times.
It transformed my business, and it can do the same for you.

Managing poor quality content... freeloaders... used to be a best practice. Today, it's a necessity.
In this episode we talk about why that's the case, and I break down my 4-step process for removing "crappy" content from Google's vision.
1. CRITIQUE - Determine what in your current content needs to be managed
2. CRITERIA - How will you define "poor" quality? What about support posts?
3. CONSIDER - What are your options for handling this poor quality content? (Tip - delete is not the only answer)
4. CLEAN-UP PLAN - Once and done is not enough.. you've got to plan a regular culling routine

Back to our regularly scheduled programming... 25 things I do to grow my blogging business.
Today we're talking about number 12 - your posts' TITLES!
(Curious about the previous episodes in this series? They are listed below!)
I'm going to break down 4 things you need to consider as you craft your titles.
Why do they matter so much? Because a great title means that your post is more likely to be opened. And when your post gets opened more, it increases the ranking potential.
Here's what we cover...
- why you need your keyword in your title
- using numbers and which are best
- include power words
- add words of sentiment
BONUS: 3 ways to use power words and sentiment words together, to make a bigger impact.

It’s the final episode in this mini-series on my favorite take-aways from TBEX, and we’re talking about AI!
At the conference keynote Julia McCoy, President of Content at Scale, shared her C.R.A.F.T. framework for writing with AI.
In this podcast I share the details of that framework and why it’s a great one (even if you don’t use AI)
I also share with you the details of my free trial with Content at Scale (TL;DR it was 50/50 good/bad)
I also implore you maintain your integrity if you move forward with this or any AI tool.
For the record, here is Leslie Harvey's X that I mention in this podcast: https://twitter.com/TripsWithTykes/status/1682185579038126084

Today we’re talking about 3 considerations you need to know as you consider your worth, especially as you work with brands.
It’s the third podcast in a series where I am sharing the lessons that hit home for me at the most recent TBEX event – but these take-aways bring value to ALL niches.
There are THREE things I want you to consider as you contemplate (and hold your ground on) your worth.
The first is your SPECIAL SAUCE. What skills do you excel at? How can you use those to benefit the brand? And how do you differentiate yourself among others with the same skill?
The second is STATS. I don’t mean your pageviews and household income. I mean, gather and share the STATS that matter to the brands you want to work with. What KPIs are important to them? Marketing dollars, PPC value, click thrus to their site… plus dollar spend and affinity, if applicable.
The final consideration is SAYONARA. You have to be able to say goodbye – to walk away from brand proposals that don’t serve you or acknowledge the value you bring.
