Closing in on almost 50 years as the stadium announcer at Anfield, Blood Red catch up with ‘The Voice of Anfield’ George Sephton. He tells Matt Addison about how he started in his role back in 1971, what it entails on matchdays and how he helps to build Anfield’s famous atmosphere. With this week having also marked the first anniversary of Liverpool’s momentous 4-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League, we relive that experience. Plus, George explains how and why he came to play ‘Imagine’ at the end of that match whilst the fans remained inside the stadium.
