Blood Red: The Liverpool FC Podcast episodes

  • Taking the Anfield experience Stateside and the feelgood factor in the Liverpool squad
In the latest Allez Les Rouges podcast, our host Peter Hooton is joined by regular John Nicolson... and two very special guests.
Danny Nicolson, of the BOSS night, and Jamie Webster, whose brilliant version of Allez Allez Allez was the soundtrack to the run to the Champions League final, are fresh back from Liverpool’s tour of America.
And the duo tell Peter what it was like to go behind the curtain and why supporters should be encouraged that the club is not just getting things right on the field.
The quartet also discuss the feelgood factor around the Reds, the revival of Daniel Sturridge, and whether Jurgen Klopp is under pressure to deliver his first trophy since arriving at Anfield.
Talk also turns to Liverpool’s final friendlies and the Premier League opener at home to West Ham on Sunday week.

  • The great Liverpool auction - who should Jurgen Klopp sell and for how much?
In the latest Blood Red podcast, regular host and Liverpool reporter Ian Doyle is joined by ECHO duo Kristian Walsh and Paul Gorst to run the rule over Jurgen Klopp's squad and decide where it could be pruned. Should Loris Karius be sold? Should Daniel Sturridge be kept? And how much can realistically be asked for Divock Origi? There's plenty of discussion and not a lot of overall agreement.

  • Liverpool can't play Naby Keita excitement down any longer - and Curtis Jones is a major prospect
It's a special edition of the Poetry in Motion podcast as Neil Fitzmaurice (or is that Fitzmorris?) is joined by Joe Rimmer and special guest Natalie Evans.

Natalie is the Daily Mirror's US Digital Editor based in New York. She's also a massive Liverpool fan and follows the Reds from afar.

  • Enough is enough for Loris Karius - and will we ever see Pulisic at Liverpool?
In the first of our special US tour podcasts, Joe Rimmer and Kristian Walsh are joined by James Pearce - LIVE from Charlotte, North Carolina - to dissect Liverpool's 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Our boys battle dodgy Wifi connections, the US weather and sleep deprivation to bring the very latest talk across the pond.

The future of Loris Karius is once again a hot topic after his latest mistake, with questions raised on just how the Reds solve that particular problem.

On a lighter note, Daniel Sturridge and Naby Keita are hailed, while James asks the question many Liverpool fans want answered: Will Christian Pulisic be at Anfield one day?

The striking options still leave a lot to be desired, but Virgil van Dijk and the Academy stars are making a real impression.
It's a must listen, as always. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

  • The change in FSG and the one position Liverpool still need to strengthen
The signing of Alisson for a world record fee for a goalkeeper dominates the latest episode of the brilliant Allez Les Rouges podcast.
Host Peter Hooton and his guests, Steph Jones, Ste Monaghan and John Nicolson, are all delighted that the Brazilian has been brought in.
But, as well as discussing what kind of keeper the Reds are getting, they look at the wider context of Alisson’s arrival, and ask what it says about Jurgen Klopp, FSG’s policy, and the balance of power in the Premier League.
Not that they are completely satisfied, though.
Yes, as well as being pleased by the arrivals of Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri, who they reckon could bring the bit of nark the Reds have been missing, Peter and Co still want Klopp to make at least one more signing in one area in particular.
If that happens, though, that may lead to the departure of a player who has returned to pre-season looking as sharp as he has in years.
But, the question they ask is, can Klopp trust him?
The World Cup also gets a mention – as well as THOSE Dejan Lovren comments.
It’s another great listen. Enjoy. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
