We check in on our year-long project #BLTrees, following the seasons through the trees around us with Marielle Anzelone, urban botanist and ecologist and the founder of NYC Wildflower Week. This month, landscape architect Kate Orff, founder of SCAPE Studio and professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) where she directs Urban Design Program and is co-director of the Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes (CRCL), talks about "Trees as Protection" -- from the sun, storm surges, and air particles.
