  • Episode #29: Mark Russell

Comic writer Mark Russell makes his return to BTR fresh from the Eisner Awards and breaks down his new upcoming projects, including his DC comic series, “Superman: Space Age!”

Just a couple weeks ago at SDCC Mark won the, prestigious, Eisner Award for Best Humor Publication for his AWA book, “Not All Robots.” With several past nominations this is his first win and the Revenge crew couldn’t be happier! Being the “low-level” psychics that we are… we can confidently say that this is just the first of many more to come.

Congratulations Mark! There isn’t a writer more deserving!

Then we sink our claws into the “cold war” and discuss Mark’s new Superman series “Superman: Space Age.” At the height of Soviet and American tensions, the interstellar refugee who crash landed in the American heartland finds his super human role in a world on the verge of catastrophe. With visuals from award winning artist, Mike and Laura Allred, this is the Superman book that perfectly bridges the world shaping history of that era with the impossibilities of the superhero genre. Check it!

Interesting enough, during his first visit when given The Question, the answer was very similar with the Superman he’s now writing. See folks, stick to your goals, manifest your destiny, create awesome things…. Immortality?

Want more context for the “Cold War,” or just want to find a decent conduit for learning the history that shapes our very existence? Mark recommends you start with Hardcore History.

Follow Mark on twitter at (@Manruss) and keep up with all his projects that are about to drop in this fall. Here’s just a taste of what’s to come:

Be oh so fine as you go through life and show the stripes of our sweet designs.

Have you experienced the elusive and majestic energy of the Blue Tiger? Had a sighting in the wilderness of its eternal forest? Tasted the rich revenge of its blue milk? Then tell the people and let them know it exists!

Do you need to ride the tiger through your daily existence?

  • Episode #28: The Return

We are back with another explosive episode of the world’s greatest (comic book), top-of-the-mountain, podcast. Blasting out the human hear holes from our secret trans-pacific broadcast stations.

As you all know, the Blue Tiger has marked it’s territory in the intellectual Dark-Web of comic book podcasting, unmatched and unrivaled. Due to being an apex in the realm of the unknown world-wide-web, the “Deep State” has taken a special notice. Like the infamous hunts of the 1920’s. Attempting to find and ensnare the majestic Maltese beast that we share the moniker of.

Well, THEY tried and got pretty damn close that night, too. It was a grazing shot. Fur flew, a ricochet of steal, as the tiger leapt back into enigmatic buzz of the airwaves. After the greatest intro ever given in the shows history, the revenge crew were an EPIC 45 minutes deep in the episode when, all of a sudden… “The King of Beards” realized there was no red glow of the recording light from his auditory technologies.

Some of you might say that Big Bry simply forgot to press record. Others might say it was from Bry’s post-vacay demeanor matched by Tadd’s inebriated state. But that’s just what THEY want you to think. The Blue Tiger isn’t some docile circus cat that succumbs to a crack of the whip or the joust of the ringmaster.

No. The Blue Tiger is a wild and untethered creature, running through myth and bandwidth, to scream it’s revenge into your mind! The interference was overcame and that sweet, SWEET, milk that you all know and love was puked and served for auditory pleasures.

Note: Yeah, you guessed it. No guest this episode and we had to record it twice (god damnit, Big Bry).

Be oh so fine as you go through life and show the stripes of our sweet designs.

Have you experienced the elusive and majestic energy of the Blue Tiger? Had a sighting in the wilderness of its eternal forest? Tasted the rich revenge of its milk? Then tell the people and let them know it exists!

  • Episode 27: SDCC 2022

The biggest event of the year went down in San Diego and the Blue Tiger watched it all unfold from atop its broadcast mountain.

“Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means 'a whale's vagina.” -Ronald Burgundy

The grand spectacle of, THE con of comic cons, SDCC went down this past weekend and like always there were a lot of announcements from the industry. Bry picked out some of his favorite pieces to bring to you Cubs, and share in the (mostly) good news that came from this magical weekend.

Be oh so fine as you go through life and show the stripes of our sweet designs.

  • Episode 26: Thunder Love

It’s a guest free episode in the intellectual dark web of comic book podcasting…. Old school style!

Giving the Revenge crew a chance to catch up on some news and the gauntlet of entertainment dropping, including “THOR: Love & Thunder!”

Be warned mortal. We spoil a lot of the Thor milk in this episode.

Also we just became aware of a dream hunt across the pond in the U.K. The legend, the king, the face of fear, aka: the toughest man in pro wrestling, HAKU is finally getting his own classic figure from Chella Toys! Preorders are going down as we speak, so get yours. We sure did.

The grid was overloaded by all the fresh milk flooding the bandwidth, causing a shutdown of Bry’s power towards the end of this episode. Did that stop the recording? Was the tiger finally muzzled by nefarious forces of the shadow government?

    You fuckin’ know it didn’t.

Ride the lightening as the tiger screams down rainbow bridge to the edge of the pop-universe.

Be oh so fine as you go through life and show the stripes of our sweet designs.

Does your future seem bright? Then slide on those shades and share the blue tiger’s light.

  • #20: Comic Creator, Jonathan Case

Jonathan Case, makes his return from the infamous “lost-tape” episode to talk about his new graphic novel, Little Monarchs.

Possibly the nicest human being in the comic industry, Case is truly an artist’s artist of the highest storytelling caliber. His newest book, “Little Monarchs”, is a special blend of life, love, nature, and what rests at the heart of the human experience.

In a mostly abandoned future earth, two humans follow the real-life migration patterns of the Monarch Butterfly to actual physical locations as if reclaimed by the hands of an unrestrained wilderness. A biological adventure through the surreal lens of “what if!”

Heavily researched, the book is an interactive learning experience. Exploring the long multi-generational path of the Monarch that carves through overlooked pockets of Western America’s wildlands.

Like the setting of his book, Jonathan is pairing his own adventure with real physical locations. Catch his tour dates here!
