On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Mark arejoined by Megan Cloherty and Jack Moore, the hosts of the new podcast called 22 Hours: An American Nightmare. Their podcast is now available on PodcastOne. 

Chuck and Mark find out what drove Megan and Jack to create a series around this specific incident and what to expect from the podcast. Megan and Jack explain the mysteries that surround the D.C. mansion murders. 

Also, Megan and Jack give some hints into what listeners can expect. They share some of the aspects of the murders that they will cover in detail and even tease a few of the big reveals on their podcast.

Megan Cloherty is a multimedia reporter, turning daily audio and video stories for WTOP. 

Since 2011, Cloherty has been covering breaking news, specializing in crimes and courts for WTOP. 

Before transitioning to multimedia journalism, Cloherty spent eight years as a TV reporter, most recently at CNN Newsource in Washington, D.C., and for WDAF Fox 4 in Kansas City, Missouri. Her first market was Medford, Oregon, where she took the opportunity to explore the west coast, learning about wineries and the agriculture of the region. 

Cloherty collects the majority of her stories on her iPhone and edits them remotely on mobile for WTOP and CBS News. 

A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Cloherty graduated from Walter Johnson High School and the University of Missouri where she studied Broadcast Journalism. She earned her master’s in Interactive Journalism at

American University in 2012. 

Jack Moore joined WTOP.com as a digital writer/editor in July 2016.  

Previous to his current role, he covered federal government management and technology as the news editor at Nextgov.com, part of Government Executive Media Group. 

A graduate of Ohio State University, he also worked as a digital reporter and editor for WTOP.com’s sister

station, FederalNewsRadio.com.

On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Mark discuss the dark realities of the FISA courts. They start off by talking about the makeup of the FISA court and how the judges are appointed to this very secretive court.

On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Rusty are joined by Steve Snyder. Steve’s father served as a B-17 bomber pilot during World War II and was shot down during a bombing mission. Steve became very passionate about his father’s story and it into a book. 

Chuck and Rusty start by asking Steve about the premise of his father’s story and what drove him to write the book. Steve shares some of the details from his meeting with the German pilot that shot down his father’s B-17 bomber. 

They continue by discussing the importance of remembering what happened during World War II. Steve also explain how grateful people still are for the American soldiers that liberated them from the Nazis. 

Their conversation wraps up considering if the Germans fighting in World War II believed that they were in the right. Steve explains how the Germans felt following the war, based on some of his interviews with

German soldiers.

A graduate of UCLA, Steve Snyder lives in Seal Beach, California. In 2009, he retired from Vision Service Plan (VSP) after a 36-year career working in sales and sales management. He then began his quest to learn

more about the World War II experiences of his father, pilot Howard Snyder, and the crew of the B-17 Susan Ruth. It became his passion, and after 4 ½ years of dedicated research, resulted in his book, Shot Down, which has received 25 book awards. 

A member of numerous World War II organizations, Steve is immediate past president of the 306th Bomb Group Historical Association. He keeps very busy making PowerPoint presentations to all types of organizations and attending air shows around the country signing copies of his book.

On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Mark are joined by Sharyl Attkisson. Sharyl has spent her career as an author, journalist and TV anchor. Her latest efforts have been focused on investigative journalism and her weekly TV news program Full Measure. 

They start off by discussing censorship by big tech and their relationship to the deep state. They talk about how the deep state plays a large role in the decisions made regarding what the American people can see. Sharyl explains how she has dealt with the big media companies skewing the truth. 

Chuck and Mark continue by asking Sharyl about her current suit against the FBI for hacking into her personal computer without a warrant. She explains where the case is currently and the issues that she has run into with the case. Sharyl also explain why her case is a precedent-setting case.  

They finish up by talking about media bias and how the American people do not look deeper into the news. They discuss how there are good reporters at many of the major news outlets and how important it is to find the reporters you can trust.  

More about Sharyl Attkisson: 

Sharyl Attkisson is a five-time Emmy Award winner and recipient of the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting. She is author of two New York Times best sellers: “The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think and How You Vote,” and “Stonewalled.” She is host of the Sunday morning national TV news program, Sinclair’s “Full Measure,” which focuses on investigative and accountability reporting.  

For thirty years, Attkisson was a correspondent and anchor at CBS News, PBS, CNN and in local news.  

In 2013, she received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism for her reporting on “The Business of Congress,” which included an undercover investigation into fundraising by Republican freshmen. She received two other Emmy nominations in 2013 for “Benghazi: Dying for Security” and “Green Energy Going Red.” Additionally, Attkisson received a 2013 Daytime Emmy Award as part of the CBS Sunday Morning team’s entry for Outstanding Morning Program for her report: “Washington Lobbying: K-Street Behind Closed Doors.” 

In September 2012, Attkisson received the Emmy for Outstanding Investigative Journalism and the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Investigative Reporting for the “Gunwalker: Fast and Furious” story.  

Attkisson received an Investigative Emmy Award in 2009 for her exclusive investigations into TARP and the bank bailout. She received an Investigative Emmy Award in 2002 for her series of exclusive reports about mismanagement at the Red Cross.  

Attkisson is one of the few journalists to have flown in a B-52 on a combat mission (over Kosovo) and in an F-15 fighter jet Combat Air Patrol flight. She is a fourth degree black belt in TaeKwonDo. 

Previously, Attkisson hosted a medical news magazine on PBS called “HealthWeek,” anchored for CNN, and reported at several local news stations. She is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Journalism and Communications.

On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Mark are joined by Professor Adam Winkler to continue their exploration of the United States Constitution. Today they cover the 4th–8th Amendments. 

They start off discussing the protections and limitations granted to citizen by the 4th Amendment. Professor Winkler explains the protections an individual has during a run-in with law enforcement. He also explains how the Fourth Amendment relates to personal privacy. 

Chuck and Mark move to discussing the Fifth Amendment and its two main protections for individual’s rights. Professor Winkler explains what a grand jury can do, the two main protections of the Fifth Amendment, and the difference of an inditement and charges. 

Their conversation moves into Sixth Amendment and the protections it grants to criminal defendants. Professor Winkler explains each of the protections provided by the Sixth Amendment, and they discuss how it plays into the Mueller Investigation. 

They wrap-up with a quick exploration of the Eighth Amendment. They discuss how the Eighth Amendment has become very popular as of late and is a focus of those pushing for criminal justice reform.
