Raquelle is completing her Masters in Communication, specialising in Health Communications, from the University of Amsterdam. Having returned from a month in Tanzania with the Masaai culture, she takes us through the difference between health culture and individual health bias, how empirical research is conducted, and why she chose to take on an across-the-globe trip to challenge her own existing bias. 

We candidly discuss the beauty and sometimes pitfalls of honouring ancient cultures, the impact of gender norms on nutrition and health, and honour the intention to inspire positive influence while creating and maintaining a safe space for others.

As we look at the gig economy, the great resignation and as more and more companies are deciding to go the direction of work-from-home indefinitely, boundaries have never been more important than they are today.

 In January 2014, Prestonne and  Nicole Whitman partnered to open Yoga Generation in Coquitlam bringing aerial yoga to the Tri-Cities. The two have since opened the second location of YogaGen in Pitt Meadows.

Prestonne’s goal as a yoga teacher is to inspire kindness, compassion and gratitude towards others, and most importantly towards oneself.

She has completed over 500 hours in yoga teacher trainings, specializing in Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. Prestonne holds a BA from SFU, where she studied communications.
