2 Lives comes from a quote by Confucius who said, “we’re all given two lives; the second begins the moment we realize we have only one.”  

 

Over the last year and a half I’ve interviewed 20 people who have faced darkness of some kind – a scary diagnosis, a grizzly bear, a death of a child, addiction – and how those grizzly bear moments changed the trajectory of their lives. 

 

With each interview I shared the 2 Lives quote and asked what it meant for them. A couple of those answers wound up in their episodes but many did not. So I wanted to share those answers with you today. 

 

I’m constantly learning from and am inspired by the people I meet through 2 Lives. I hope you are too.
