The majority of us have a picture of what we want in our minds. The majority of us already know how to get what we want.
Why aren't we doing it then?
The reason is because we will have to burn off habits that we have now, and replace them with new ones. Simple in theory but tough in practice. It feels like killing a part of yourself because we have learned to identify with our habits. We have all heard that our habits make us who we are and it's true but the part that's left out is the part where they were supposed to tell us we make our habits first, then they make us who we are after that.
We need to have a strong enough reason WHY we want the end result if we ever expect ourselves to go through the discomfort of changing our habits, which we now know is in actual fact changing our identity.
There is no feeling in the world that can compare to going through the identity change necessary to get the result. The result actually becomes unimportant because in your mind, you have already gotten what you wanted.
You don't want the result. You never did. You want whatever being able to identify as a person with the result , will make you feel. If you just develop the habit, you'll already have it!
