Shame is the most painful of all human emotions because it doesn’t just say you did something wrong. It says you ARE something wrong.
It lives in the body like a stone in the chest. It makes you want to hide, to shrink, to disappear. And the cruellest thing about shame is that it thrives in silence, the less we speak of it, the more power it has over us.
This meditation will not take the shame away. But it will ask you to sit with it, breathe through it, and find underneath it the truth that shame works so hard to bury, that you are not your worst moment. That you are not what happened to you. That you are worthy of compassion. Especially from yourself.
Bring it to the cushion. Come as you are. 🌿

When anxiety lifts you out of your body and into your head, this is how you come back.
Grounding is one of the most powerful and immediate tools we have. A way of dropping down through the noise and the fear and the overwhelm and making contact with the body you actually live in. With the earth beneath your feet that has been holding you all along.
Five minutes. It works every single time.
This practice is particularly powerful when the world feels unsafe, when your mind is racing, or when you simply can’t find your way back to yourself. You don’t need any experience. Just a willingness to arrive.
Bring it to the cushion. Come as you are. 🌿

Loneliness is one of the quietest and heaviest things a person can carry.
Not the loneliness of being physically alone, though that is real too, but the loneliness of feeling unseen in a room full of people. Of carrying something too big to explain. Of moving through your days feeling like nobody truly knows the whole of you.
This meditation won’t magic up the connection you are longing for. But it will sit with you in the loneliness, honestly, warmly, without pretending, and remind you that feeling this way does not mean something is wrong with you. It means you are human. And you are not as alone in this feeling as you think.
Bring it to the cushion. Come as you are. 🌿

You are allowed to be furious.
At the injustice. At the indifference.
At the people in power who seem to feel nothing while the world burns.
The rage is real and it is valid and it does not make you a bad person, it makes you a person who is paying attention.
This meditation is not here to take your rage away. It is here to help you sit with it, breathe through it, and find what lives underneath it, so that the fire in you becomes fuel rather than destruction.
Bring it all to the mat. Come as you are.

Five minutes. That’s all it takes to completely change the state of your nervous system.
When we are stressed, anxious or overwhelmed our breathing becomes shallow and fast, which tells the brain there is danger and keeps the body in fight or flight. This simple five minute breathwork practice interrupts that cycle. It sends a direct signal to your nervous system that you are safe. That you can soften. That you can breathe.
No experience needed. No special technique. Just your breath and five minutes.
You can do this anywhere, at your desk, in your car, in the bathroom, on your lunch break. Whenever the world feels like too much and you need to reset.
Bring it to the cushion. Come as you are. 🌿

When everything is pressing in at once and you can’t find the edge of it, this is for you.
Ten minutes to put it all down, just for now. To breathe. To remember that you don’t have to carry it all at the same time. That underneath the overwhelm there is a quieter place, and it has been waiting for you.
You don’t need to fix anything right now. Just breathe.
Come as you are. 🌿

Grief doesn’t follow a schedule or a stages model.
It arrives when it arrives, as big as it needs to be.
This meditation won’t rush you through it or tell you how to feel. It will simply sit with you in it, honestly, without pretending, and remind you that grief is just love with nowhere to go.
You are allowed to take as long as you need.
Come as you are. 🌿

I didn’t come to meditation because life was going well. I came to it because I was searching for something that would give me rest.
Grief has a way of stripping everything back, until all that’s left is the question of how to keep going. For me, the answer was this. Sitting still. Breathing. Coming back to myself, again and again, even when it was hard. Especially when it was hard.
I’ve meditated every day since 1997. And in all that time, this practice has given me more than I could ever put into words, stillness in the chaos, comfort in the darkness, and a way back to myself when I needed it most.
I made Breathe with Emma because I want that for you too.
Not because I’m a guru. Not because I have all the answers. But because I know what it is to grieve, to feel overwhelmed, and to desperately need somewhere quiet to land. And I know that this practice; simple, gentle, free, can change everything.
This channel is for everyone. No matter your age, your background, or what you believe. No experience needed. No barriers. Just you, a few quiet minutes, and me.
Come as you are. I’ll be right here.
