Welcome to the final episode in this series all about overtraining symptoms!
We have already talked about symptoms like thirst, overheating, frequent urination, sodium/potassium imbalance, cortisol, digestion, menstruation, twitchy muscles, skin problems, sore throats, libido, cardiac symptoms, crash and burn patterns, insomnia, teeth grinding, and food cravings in previous shows, and in today's episode, we tackle the final symptoms of overtraining: mood disturbances and experiencing that “evening second wind.”
While experiencing a second wind in the evening may seem wonderful, it is actually indicative of a larger problem since cortisol really should be dwindling to a circadian rhythm low at this time. This is a great show to listen to if you want to learn more about cortisol and what happens when you abuse your body’s flight or fight response and the hormonal mechanisms behind it, as well as how to deal with these specific symptoms of overtraining and the difference between overreaching and overtraining.
