I understand we all have busy lives...

Also with an online business, there is just SO many things we need to do!

So if we can embrace automation and use this to our advantage, then we are going to make thins easier for ourselves. 

Heck - we might even set up systems that will drive sales for us, without us needing to do any additional work

Today I am discussing the ONE Skill You MUST Learn If You Have an Online Business.

What is that you might ask?

Could it be Blogging?

Video Marketing?

or even Podcasting?

Whilst they are all great skills to learn, I am referring to effective copywriting.

Now I know many of you may be thinking…

Aghh… Copy? Really..?

Bear with me here.

I will explain why.

Take even a simple Blog post. You mightn’t have considered this, but you require some level of copywriting skills to write one that engages your readers.

You have to entice the readers in with an intriguing title.

Then your content has to flow in a manner that keeps them reading.

If you then have a call to action (and you should), then you have to persuade your readers to take action.

This is basically using simple (but effective) copywriting techniques.

If you next consider a simple squeeze page.

You have limited elements.

Typically a pre-headline, headline and sub-headline and an optin box….

That’s it…

So you must have enticing copy within the headlines on order for the prospects to enter their details.

So todays Podcast episode is a little different.

First of all I have lost my voice

If you listen in, you will hear that I sound quite different.

In todays episode I also discuss why I have been struggling recently.

Or at least some of the things that I personally struggle with for my online business.

One of such is actually something that is a part of my personality.

I simply can't help this at times.

I deliberate and can take a lot of time to make decisions.

That leave me stalled or sitting idle whilst time slips away before I finally make my decision.

One such decision is where do I host my digital products moving forward?

I was planning to use this domain Broadcast Geeks, but I also got thinking that while it is okay, the name does not lead towards digital content and the Make Money Online area as well as it could.

I also own a domain Simple Digital Profits, and this is the one I have been leaning towards.

but the decision of making that final move is holding me up.

I can't help this at times - It is in my personality.

Today I am discussing why I am actually happy and glad that my Podcast audience is still relatively small. 

In the past I used to get frustrated whenever i didn't seem to be getting the results I thought I deserved.

I would build something, not see the results and then stop.

Only for me to end up starting something else, then repeating the process.

Today is different

I am happy my audience is still small

Consider my Podcast

I am now onto episode 31, and whilst I have had thoughts of stopping it, I also have personal reasons for creating the weekly show.

I want to get better in front of the microphone

I want to get better and creating audio content

I want to get better at coming up with content ideas

So I have pushed myself and I created an episode each and every week up to episode 31...

Elite athletes are also people who do more of something to get better at it

Look at an elite athlete

how have they become so good at this?

They have trained

pushed themselves

worked for it...

...had failures or setbacks along the way

but they persisted.

and this is something you MUST do if you want to get better at something!

I had a Skype conversation this week that has inspired todays post.

I had assumed that everybody knew how to setup and establish a website for their online business.

I guess because I have been doing this for years, and it is easy for me, that it was the same for others.

...I was wrong

Lesson #1: NEVER ASSUME...

I had forgotten lesson #1...

So with that in mind I set out to list the 5 most basic steps you need to take in order to get yourself setup online.

In the following steps I also recommend you go the premium route rather than the free services.

I feel it is always best to go with the paid route as with the free services, you never actually own or fully control them. Whereas with paying for the services gives you more flexibility, customisation and additional options.

Plus you do not have the threat of someone closing or banning your account.

So where you can, use premium options. They are not as expensive as you might think!

How do you achieve anything great?

Only work on your next step and keep moving forward step-by-step.

Imagine the task ahead of the construction workers when they set out to build the Empire State building.

They had a HUGE task ahead.

However they built it one brick at a time.

They set a stable base, then built brick upon brick.

Steel upon steel...

Day-after-day, week-after-week to they finally finished it.

How long did it take them? (interesting fact)

One year and 45 days...

Think of a rock climber. They know they want to climb to the top, they also know where they are starting. They might also have a plan, but when they begin climbing, they must only focus on the next step (with a direction in mind). That one next step is what takes them higher.

I have faced this as I am building out my core members area. I have set out on creating a mammoth members area with many modules that I wish to create training around.

How To Persist and WIN Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

I am having one of those days myself today.

I have a cold, I feel awful and really don’t feel like creating content.

We all get them…

…it’s life

It happens to everybody.

However – It’s what YOU do when you don’t feel like doing something, that makes the difference.

It’s how you react

…what you do about it

That is what make the real difference.

If you persist, even when you do not feel like it, then you are a sure winner.

I often hear people telling me they struggle in creating a simple lead magnet for their business. Or others simply may not know what a Lead magnet is and why you must have a lead magnet if you do any form of business online.

I can understand why people struggle – they are normally over-thinking it, or trying to get it just too perfect before they release it. In doing this, they end up over-complicating things and creating a full blown product or they may even give up and simply never bother.

What exactly is a Lead Magnet?

In it’s simplest of terms it is anything of value that you can exchange in return for the prospects contact information. This is usually in the form of their email address.

The easiest lead magnet to offer is something digital so that the prospect can access and download right away. This gives them the instant gratification from your offer.

Today I am posing a question to you - What are your TRUE motives for marketing online?

I can nearly guarantee most people will instantly think to themselves...

...Duh, Chris!

To Make Money

Why else?

Let me stop you there...

I say that, yes, money is a factor!

...but is this what makes you tick?

I mean, really tick within your online business?

I ask, is it REALLY your motivation?

You see if you are purely motivated by money and nothing else, then you most likely will not see the results or amount of money you're after.

However, if you actually care about your customers,

or if you actually care about making a difference

or if you get a buzz out of helping others...

Is this what really motivates you online?

It took for me to realise that whilst making money in my business is essential for the business to continue, I would rather conduct business from a place where I can genuinely help people.

It is also the reason why I have not brought any of my older digital products back online for sale...

It is the reason why I have been deep in the labs creating brand new products.
