President Donald Trump and Pope Leo are in a bit of a spat. Pope Leo XIV publicly urged restraint and peace, condemning what he described as a “delusion of omnipotence” driving the Iran War. Trump responded forcefully on Truth Social, calling the pope “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy,” and saying he did not want a pope who criticizes the U.S. president. Shortly after his public criticism of Pope Leo, Trump posted — and later deleted — an AI‑generated image on Truth Social that depicted the president wearing flowing white robes, his hand placed on a sick man in a hospital bed, a glowing light emanating from his hand, surrounding figures appearing to pray or kneel and patriotic imagery such as American flags, eagles, fireworks, and military aircraft. The visual language closely mirrored traditional depictions of Jesus Christ performing a healing miracle, which led many viewers — including supporters — to interpret it as Trump portraying himself as Christ.

A woman accused Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., of raping her in 2018 after she said the two met socially and had contact on three occasions while she was living and working in Beverly Hills. Lonna Drewes said that Swalwell drugged, raped and choked her. Drewes said she did not undergo a rape kit at the time, but told people close to her about the alleged assault and documented the events in a handwritten calendar.

Artemis II is NASA’s first crewed mission of the Artemis program and the first time humans have traveled to the Moon since Apollo 17 in 1972. It is scheduled to splash down on around 5:07 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) off the coast of Southern California, West of San Diego. However, there is controversy surrounding the capsule's heat shield. During the uncrewed Artemis I mission in December 2022, Orion returned safely—but NASA discovered something unexpected damage when the capsule was recovered. This leads some experts to worry about the human astronauts on board for tonight's reentry.

INTERVIEW: Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux walks Broeske & Musson what happened in Porterville that lead to a deadly officer involved shooting and locked down neighborhoods. Tulare County Sheriff Deputy Randy Hoppert, 35, was killed responding to the scene.  The suspect was after deputies ran him over with a BearCat tactical vehicle.

Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving a final eviction notice at a home in Porterville, when authorities say the resident opened fire on deputies almost immediately, triggering an extended and violent standoff. Tulare County Sheriff Deputy Randy Hoppert, 35, was killed responding to the scene.  He leaves behind a wife who is four months pregnant.
