Today we have the latest edition of the DeanCast.
DeanCast guest today is Mark Porter, owner of ScoutingOhio.com.
On today’s show we talk:
** Porter talks about the Buckeyes not recruiting high school players, but rather future NFL draft picks
** Porter discusses and gives stats on whether or not Ohio prep football talent is dwindling and what impact it has on the Buckeyes
** We talk about the gems the Buckeyes have landed for their 2021 recruiting class
** Porter looks ahead to the Ohio class of 2022 and the potential Ohio State guys
** Porter discusses the vibe from the college coaching world in regards to whether and when there will be another college football season.
** And we discuss more…
Ohio State's recruiting is "stupid"? Well, not stupid in the classic term, of course. In this case, we are talking about stupid good. Matt Baxendell joins Dave Biddle for today's show to talk about high four-star cornerback Jaylin Davies perhaps becoming the next member of the Buckeyes' No. 1-ranked 2021 recruiting class, right on the heels of OSU landing four-star safety Jantzen Dunn on Monday. Also on the docket:
* What is the state of the linebacking corps for the Buckeyes in 2020? We do a deep dive on that.
* What is Bax most interested to see in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday? (Yes, tomorrow! Whohoo!)
* The local media will have teleconferences with several of Ohio State's assistant coaches later this morning.
All of that and more is coming your way on the Wednesday 5ish.
Much of the world is on hiatus until the current pandemic is handled. That does not include Ohio State's football program.
Ryan Day and Co. added another prospect to its No. 1 rated Class of 2021 when Kentucky's best - Jantzen Dunn - verballed to Ohio State.
Oh, and 11 Buckeyes could come off the board in the fast-approaching NFL Draft.
What does Duane Long think of Dunn joining this class?
How does Duane rank the draft-eligible Buckeyes?
Boom, that's a show.

Will the No. 1 prospect out of the state of Kentucky, defensive back Jantzen Dunn, commit to Ohio State later today? It is sure trending in that direction. Bill "Bank" Greene joins Dave Biddle on today's show to discuss what changed over the weekend with Dunn. Plus, what position is he most likely to play in college, and what former OSU defensive backs does he remind Bank of? Also on the docket:
* Michigan is recruiting the state of Massachusetts hard for the second straight year, which seems like an odd strategy. Let's talk about it.
* On the other hand, P.J. Fleck is doing an excellent job at Minnesota. What does the future hold for Fleck?
* What prospects from Ohio State are we most curious to see where they land in this week's NFL Draft?
All of that and more is coming your way on the Monday 5ish.
Of the last 20 basketball recruits to join Ohio State's squad, 11 have left the program. If you take the two highest recruits in each class, seven of the 10 are gone.
What gives?
Is Ohio State in the middle of a program crisis? Or is this the new normal in college basketball?
Who better to answer than our network's premiere voice on college basketball: Director of Basketball Recruiting Evan Daniels?
The answer: Nobody.
We execute a deep dive on Ohio State hoops with Evan, who offers up insight on Chris Holtmann's team when it comes to recruiting, on-court performance and what the future might look like.
Enjoy the show, 'Nutters!
Today, we have the latest edition of the DeanCast.
Our DeanCast guest today is the Buckeyes’ newest commitment, defensive end Tunmise Adeleye from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG.
On today’s show we talk:
** Why Adeleye made his decision this week
** Ryan Day and Larry Johnson’s reactions when Adeleye gave them the great news
** Adeleye telling other schools the news that he had picked Ohio State
** Eventually playing on the same defensive line with 5-star defensive end Jack Sawyer
** Adeleye ecruiting his teammates JC Latham and Kamar Wilcoxson
** Being part of what could be the greatest recruiting class ever
** And more...
It is an uncomfortable subject, but one that is on the minds of all college football fans: What will the 2020 season look like? Will it be played as scheduled? Might there be a delay to the start of the season, followed by a shortened season? And heaven forbid, there is one really bad possibility (although we don't think it will come to that). Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle to discuss why pro sports leagues planning to start in June could be what paves the way for college sports to start this fall. Also on the show:
* Defensive end Tunmise Adeleye -- the No. 41 ranked recruit in the country in the 2021 class -- became the 16th commitment for the Buckeyes in their No. 1-ranked class on Wednesday. He was originally expected to announce his decision in August.
* What stood out to JBook regarding Ryan Day's 45-minute teleconference with reporters on Wednesday?
* Where do things stand with the other top recruits on OSU's board for 2021?
All of that and more is coming your way on the Friday 5ish.
We have to start by thanking Tunmise Adeleye for timing his commitment to best suit this podcast.
Yes, Ohio State added another standout to its epic Class of 2021 haul in Adeleye, a Texas native prepping at IMG in Bradenton, Fla. Adeleye is the No. 4 defensive end in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He'll likely line up in Scarlet and Gray opposite fellow commitment Jack Sawyer (the No. 3 defensive end).
Is that good?
Also, a recent review of available 5-star prospects in the class have three leaning towards Columbus, according to 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong.
So guess who our guest is today! That's right, Wiltfong himself.
Sit back and listen to a complete review of why Adeleye chose Ohio State, who could follow and other anecdotal examples of why the Buckeyes are recruiting at a level never seen before.

The NFL Draft is one week and one day away (we can see you smiling). On today's show, Steve Helwagen joins Dave Biddle to predict where the players from Ohio State will be selected in the draft. The first two or three are easy, then it begins to get a lot more difficult.
Also, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day will hold a teleconference with reporters late this morning.
All of that and more is in store for you on the Wednesday 5ish.
Duane Long is a man of the people. But you knew that.
We asked Bucknutters to submit questions for Duane via the Front Row message board and you people delivered. Big time.
We hit the following topics:
* Compare 2002's defense to last year's crew ...
* Best and worst evaluations of future Buckeyes ...
* Could Trey Sermon be in Columbus for two years?
* Most talented QB to play for Ohio State?
* Which Buckeyes are hurt most by current delay?
* Urban Meyer's best coaching job in Columbus?
