Bucknuts Morning 5: An Ohio State athletics podcast

Now that you've had an extra day to revel in it, what did you think of Ohio State's decimation of Northwestern on Friday night.

Ohio State won, 52-3. Sometimes the final score is not indicative of the game. This was. Total beatdown in Evanston in front of a national audience (at least those who get BTN, but we digress).

What did we think of the game?

What happened on Saturday that affects the Buckeyes?

Here to talk about all that and more: Bill Kurelic, Pat Murphy and Matt Baxendell.

Spend some of your Sunday morning with us, 'Nutters!

We have a very rare game-day edition of the Bucknuts Morning 5 for you as Jonah Booker drops by for his usual Friday visit.

Ohio State will take on Northwestern in Evanston tonight, and JBook and Dave Biddle are here to talk all about it.

* What are predictions for tonight's game?

* Should the Buckeyes have agreed to play on a Friday night?

* Is JBook concerned about the injuries on the Buckeyes' offensive line?

All of that and more is coming at you on the Friday extravaganza.

Ohio State spend the past week readying for Northwestern and working the recruiting trail.

So it's convenient our source today is an expert on both. 247Sports guru Steve Wiltfong is here to spread wisdom on the following:

* Emeka Egbuka - Can Ohio State do it again in Seattle?

* C.J. Stroud - The latest on possible Buckeyes QB of the future.

* Antonio Alfano - Former No. 1 recruit leaving 'Bama ... should OSU kick the tires?

* Darnay Holmes - One-time Ohio State silent commit has had enough of UCLA? Should Buckeyes rekindle relationship?

* Penn State vs. Michigan - Gut check time for both programs. Why does Steve like Fighting Franklins in this one?

* Ohio State vs. Northwestern - Yes, it's another Friday night B1G showdown. But it's not 2018 ...

What are thoughts on Ohio State playing a rare Friday night game?

The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, joins Dave Biddle to give his strong thoughts on that topic on today's show, plus:

* Northwestern is usually a tough team to play against, but this year the Wildcats don't have a quarterback who is playing well. Do they really have much of a chance of hanging with the Buckeyes?

* Who is the best team remaining on OSU's schedule?

* Thoughts on Mookie Cooper being ineligible for his senior season of high school and whether that might be a blessing in disguise.

All of that and more is coming at you on the Wednesday extravaganza.

Ohio State had the weekend off. Sort of. There was no game. But there was a big win.

The Buckeyes went into Texas once again for a big commitment: defensive back Ryan Watts from Deep Elm.

Duane Long is here and he is excited. We go in depth on what the addition of Watts means for the Buckeyes.

Also: Could Ohio State actually pass on adding a running back altogether in the Class of 2020? It's possible. Duane shares his viewpoint on how Ohio State should proceed from here.

Then we had to get into this Friday night's date with Northwestern. Is the possibility for another Purdueish debacle present?

All of that is coming at you on the Tuesday extravaganza.

Ohio State was off this past week, but returns to action in Evanston, Ill., against Northwestern on Friday (8:30 p.m. ET; FS1).

What are thoughts on the clash between the Buckeyes and Wildcats, who last met in the 2018 Big Ten Championship game?

Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle to discuss that, plus:

* The Buckeyes' 2020 excellent recruiting class got even better on Sunday when Ryan Day, Jeff Hafley and Co. landed four-star cornerback Ryan Watts.

* Junior middle linebackers Baron Browning and Tuf Borland are splitting snaps to a certain degree. Is it time for Browning to play even more than he has?

* Despite being a first-year head coach (not counting his three games last year) Day certainly seems to check all the boxes. Or is it too early to proclaim that?

All of that and more is coming at you on the Monday extravaganza.

Ohio State got some time off this weekend. Here at Bucknuts? It was work, work, work. We watched a lot of football.

Buckeyes staffers - some of them - used the time to hit the recruiting trail. Certain targets got some seriously interested visitors wearing Scarlet and Gray gear.

Which ones?

The Dean of Ohio State Recruiting - Bill Kurelic - joins us as always to get everyone up to speed on the trail.

We also welcome in Matt Baxendell for his take on how yesterday's on-field action affects Ohio State's outlook.

* How many players will OSU take in this class?

All of that and more is coming at you on the Friday extravagana.

The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, joins Dave Biddle for today's show to discuss that, plus:

* What are thoughts about the Buckeyes' right tackles?

* What is the toughest game remaining on OSU's schedule? Is it Wisconsin, or perhaps a different team?

* What are takeaways from the news that the Buckeyes' offer to 2020 quarterback CJ Stroud is committable? Is it looking like he will be playing for Ryan Day's crew next season?

All of that and more is coming at you on the Wednesday extravaganza.
