Bucknuts Morning 5: An Ohio State athletics podcast

Is 5-star running back Bijan Robinson going to join Ohio State's stellar 2020 recruiting class, which is currently No. 4 in the country in the 247Sports Composite team rankings?

The answer to that question is "hell yes" if you are Bill "Bank" Greene.

Bank joins Dave Biddle on today's show to give insights on the top players remaining on OSU's board for the 2020 class. Specifically, Robinson, Elias Ricks, Lathan Ransom, Jaylan Knighton, Jacolbe Cowan and Kourt Williams?

Also, what's the deal with the "hard cap" of 25 players per recruiting class? Are their loopholes the Buckeyes can use to get over 25?

All of that and more is coming at you on the Monday extravaganza.

What better way to send you into the weekend than with a visit from The People's Champ?

Matt Baxendell joins me for a spirited chat on Ryan Day's blazing hot start on the recruiting trail before he breaks down the entire Big Ten and what we can expect in the season ahead.

Which coaches are on the hot seat?

Will powers like Michigan State and Wisconsin regain form?

Is James Franklin destined for more viral video production?

And ... lastly ... even Phil Steele is picking the Fighting Khakis to win the Big Ten East.

What gives?

What if Groundhog Day was excellent?

What if every time was the same ... yet awesome?

Welcome to Ohio State's 2020 recruiting cycle!

Whether it's a gander at the national Crystal Ball report or another commitment slide/impact article combo, the last month or so has been an amazing ride down the recruiting trail for the Buckeyes. More good news: There's no end in sight.

247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong joins us to discuss the repeated, wonderful additions to the class and who might be next. Among the names we covered:

* Mookie Cooper

* Bijan Robinson

* Jaylon Knighton

* Kourt Williams

* Lathan Ransom

* Vernon Broughton

* Kedrick Bingley-Jones

* Jacolbe Cowan

* Elias Ricks

You'll likely enjoy this podcast if you are a fan of Ohio State thriving.

Joshua Perry offers unique insight on Ohio State's football program and today's show is another example of that.

We asked Front Rowers to submit questions for Joshua to answer and the result is today's show.

Among the questions posed (and then answered):

* What is Ohio State's No. 1 selling point?

* Baron Browning: Inside or outside linebacker?

* College coaches vs. NFL coaches

* Thoughts on Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh?

* What coach had the biggest impact on Joshua?

* Whose defense was it during the 2014 season: Chris Ash or Luke Fickell's?

* What went wrong with the Everett Withers scheme?

* Anyone panic when J.T. Barrett went down in Ann Arbor?

All that and more is a click away!

O.K., we admit it: What Ohio State is doing on the recruiting trail has exceeded our expectations.

Did we doubt Ryan Day's regime?

Did we think it would put together the greatest offensive recruiting haul in school history?

Should we just chill with all the hyperbole?

Maybe, but with the flurry of commitments and Crystal Balls rolling for the good guys, it's hard to stay calm.

What does Duane Long think of all the developments?

We asked. He answered.

We have a special show for 'Nutters today.

Joining us is Gee Scott, Sr., father of Ohio State wide receiver commitment Gee Scott, Jr.

In an extended chat, Scott, Sr., details his son's journey to become an elite wide receiver prospect and how the Washington state native became one of the nation's most coveted recruits.

* What role did the Seattle Seahawks play?

* Why Ohio State?

* How important has Brian Hartline been in the process?

* Were there concerns about the Urban Meyer-Ryan Day transition?

* What's it like to have your son be on The Opening's Dream Team?

* What does he think of the Buckeye 2020 WR Trio as a group?

Scott, Sr., touches on those topics and much more as we log quality time with West Coast Buckeye family.

Who will be the next Buckeyes commitment?

Is Ohio State still recruiting LSU commitment Elias Ricks?

Besides the 'Dreamy' wide receivers, which future Buckeyes shined at The Opening?

How many commitments will Ohio State take in the Class of 2020?

Who remains in focus and when could they make the call?

Those are important questions as you set yourself for a week of Buckeye intrigue.

Luckilly, we brought in an answer man: Bill Kurelic.

We've talked recruiting on the BM5 for several days and for good reason - the commitments keep coming. We don't expect that to end. In fact, you need to be on Bucknuts at 11:30 a.m. if you like recruiting and good things happening for the Buckeyes.

But today's show is about the CURRENT collection of Buckeyes sweating at the WHAC. With the season opener against Florida Atlantic just over seven weeks from today, we take a shot at predicting Ohio State's starting lineup that day.

Patrick Murphy joins the show with what he thinks the starting lineup will be.

Sure, there are some gimmes - see Dobbins, J.K.

But what about the offensive line?

What about the linebackers?

There is still some intrigue there and at a few other spots.

Who are your starters? Do they differ from Patrick's?

Gotta tune in to find out!

Duane Long is back. Is he playing injured? He would never tell you so.

But our guy assumes his regular Tuesday morning spot again to talk about:

* Adding Darrion Henry and Cody Simon

* Lathan Ransom

* Mitchell Melton

* Josh Fryar

* Mookie Cooper

* Jaylan Knighton

Is there multiple nekkid jaunts in Duane's future? Do we need to alert the local authorities?

You'll just have to listen and decide for yourself.
