In this episode, I speak with Lana Rodriguez, a top real estate agent in Colorado Springs known for her stellar referral business. Lana shares how she built her referral-based business from the ground up, starting when she first got her real estate license in 2014.

  • Organize your database and start communicating consistently with your sphere of influence. Segment them into A, B, C, and D tiers based on how well they know/trust you. Communicate in different ways to each tier.
  • Host memorable client appreciation events on a regular basis. This is a great way to provide value and stay top of mind with past clients.
  • Building relationships is critical in real estate. Be genuine, add value, and look for opportunities to connect authentically with people.
  • Have systems and processes in place to nurture relationships, follow up, and convert more referrals into clients. Working by referral takes an organized approach.
  • Ask for business! When clients are happy, ask if they can refer you to anyone they know looking to buy/sell. Planting that seed can generate more referrals.
