Rams are stacked to the rafters on defense as Von “Spectacles” Miller signs on (goes to sleep 4-4, wakes up 7-1), AA-Ron “Horseface” Rodgers is a bold-faced liar and anti-vaxer; the tragedy around former Las Vegas Raider Henry Ruggs III who. while shit-house drunk, weaponizes his Corvette and kills a pedestrian and pet at 150+mph (enjoy prison fucko); MNF Manningcast is becoming a thing (despite sidestepping the Bears-Steelers game); before talk turns to round ball and the excitement around the Chicago Bulls fast start; and in the wake of ESPN’s The Last Dance, Scottie Pippen is in the news again, showcasing his bitterness around signing a shitty contract (find a mirror dummy); and Joakim “Side Show Bob” Noah signs a one-day contract with the Bulls to properly retire, before talk pivots to the Chicago BlackeyeHawks sex abuse scandal and the irrevocable stain on their legacy (players, coaches, management are all to blame), before closing MLB World Series chatter as the Atlanta Bravos get a ring and the cheating fucking Astros get what they deserve.

The Bums kick off Episode 0035 with our infamous ‘Hell hath no fury like a Chicago Bears fan scorned’ segment, ripping Nagy, Pace and the O-line (leaking like a 50-year old roof in Seattle) for acute malfeasance, discussion turns to the silver lining — the crumbling of the colonnade as the McKasky family purchase the recently defunct Arlington Heights race track, other NFL topics get swirled to include Justin Tucker’s record setting boot, the Goat heading back to Foxboro, old man Sherman to the Bucos and troubled cat Josh Gordon using his ninth life, before the Bums wrap the prime side with talk of Chicago White Sox playoffs (yes, playoffs) as Paddy preps for a visit to Comiskey from behind home plate.
The second act commences with another world renowned beer review segment, featuring ‘Hophazardly IPA’ (7.1% ABV), an American IPA from Begyle Brewing in Chicago’s Ravenswood hood, before ramblings turn to Mother Nature’s changing of the seasons, and an absolutely epic take-down of all things Pumpkin Spice, before ending with a riddle involving a former White Sox star and his prowess around money making schemes. The Bums are back in the rail yard for Episode 0034, starting with a helmet nod to the late, great Walter Payton (aka #34), the Bears actually win a game with Andy Dalton taking a knee bruise and Justin Time Fields aptly handles his business, Roger Goodell’s ears are ringing like a 1950s rotary phone, taunting isn’t a thing but fun is very much so, as the Bums review NFL Week 2 results, barn burner match-ups and FanDuel bet slip soothsaying, the Bums compare FanDuel’s Friends-mode Fantasy football platform compared to legacy ESPN FFL, and close the front door with some good ol’ fashioned hand wringing about how the Chicago White Sox are cavaliering their way into the post season, despite having a fresh clinch in hand.
The second act begins with another world-famous beer review — advanced palates get a taste of Beer for Burgers from Off Color Brewing in Chicago, a solid Helles Bach style beer, blended w/ bourbon barrel aged lager (ABV 7.0%), the Chicago beer scene earns some well deserved global acclaim, as the Guinness potato pickers set-up shop in Chicago’s Fulton Market area with a new beer lab and brew pub, Eddie and Rocky share field notes from a day at RiotFest (good, bad and ugly), and Rocky closes down Episode 0034 with business travel tales from the dark side.

The Bums celebrate Episode 0033 “Southside style”, as Paddy reflects upon his urban habitat in short pants; Part Uno starts with talk of NCAA Football, as the galactically overrated Golden Dumbers dodge a bullet, Sconnie shits the bed, and IU and Rocky’s Northwestern Wildcats both get a proper beatdown; attention moves to Pro Football, as the Bums try to figure out what’s in the water in Baltimore, a preview of SNF’s match-up between the Bears and Rams with soothsayer predictions; and Rocky hosts a Stone-in-My-Shoe (SIMS) segment focused on the inexplicable legend of career douchebag Jay Cutler, Eddie drops some knowledge on the New York Yankees World Series data mashed up against the rest of the field, before the Bums close the front nine with Derek Jeter’s induction into the HOF (a Bum bounty is out on the one asshole who didn’t vote for Jeter).
Paddy launches the second chapter with another installment of his famous “I Did Not Know That” (IDNKT) segment, with an audible tour of Bubbly Creek, which is located just west of 33rd (pronounced turd-e-turd) and Paulina in Chicago’s Southside; followed by another beer review hosted by Eddie to showcase a session pale ale named Cozmo (5% ABV) from Noon Whistle brewery in Illinois’ western suburbs; the Bums wish external peace to Michael K. Williams who portrayed infamous characters Omar Little (The Wire) and Chalky White (Boardwalk Empire) — even though none of the Bums could remember his given name (pour one out); and finally, chatter pivots to the UnGreat State of Texas and old white males (OWMs) doing their best to control human reproduction through legislation (oh boy).

After playing hooky for a week, the Bums return to action in epic fashion with talk of the eventual collapse of the NCAA franchise as we currently know it driven by the Almighty - the U.S. Dollar, before attention is paid to NFL pre-season football and the Chicago Bears (before Rocky’s head pops off — there is only so much college sports talk one Bum can endure), Bears injury concerns are offset with optimism around Justin F. Fields (with Matt Nagy playing it safe), the Big Easy is queasy at the thought of more hurricane damage (move to the high ground), and Chicago’s baseball hopes are tightly coupled to El Calcetín Blanco, Javy gets boo’d in Queens (yes, really), and finally, the plot thickens with Trevor Bauer’s assault allegations, as the tortured couple hit into a “double play”.
On the bounce, another beer is showcased by the Bums, this time by way of a limited release Hazy Pale Ale named “Juicy Jorts” (ABV 6%) from Maplewood Brewing in Chicago, before the Bums sit cross-legged in a circle as Eddie hosts story time with a heartfelt homage to his hand slapping hero, Charlie Watts (pours one out), meanwhile Ed Asner is waiting in the wings for his wings, the Bums recall their baby-yacht excursion along Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, before the Bums bring it home to the rail-yard with an experiential recap of Chicago’s Banksy art exhibit.

After a short summer hiatus, the Bums (who mind you, don’t deserve time-off) are back in action for another glorious episode of crap. Part 1 gets off to a slow start, as the Personal-and-Professional-Check-In fails miserably, before the boys get back on track with football, the Chicago Bears, the promise of Justin Fields, Jason Peters acquisition, Ted Tebow gets a healthy does of AMF (Adios Mother Fucker), and banter moves to White Sox baseball, The Corn Game (Tony is a fucking drunk, but can coach), Sox post-season situation, RIP pour outs to 3 dearly departed (JR Richards, Bobby Bowden and Tony Esposito), Jerry strikes gold with USA bouncy ball game, and wrap part uno as the Bulls remake is looking solid with Gonzo Lonzo Ball at the controls (GarPax should be taking copious notes).
On the far side, the Bums discuss the mask game, as this fucking pandemic will not go away (thanks to anti-vax fuckers), Revolution Brewing gets out of the gate first with new mask-up rules, the Bums conduct another beer review Liquid Love Brewing’s (Buffalo Grove, IL-based) self-titled Helles Lager beer (4.8% ABV), discussion turns to eye-popping weed sales in Illinois, contemplation around when weed falls off the DEA’s Schedule 1 ‘most dangerous list’, before talk turns to streaming TV sows including Somos and Malice at the Palace, before closing this week’s episode with an 800lb gorilla that is Afghantistan and our troops withdrawal.

On the far side, the Bums pay homage to the dearly departed and heavily bearded Dusty Hill from ZZ Top, Birthday Bum Paddy kicks off a review of Hop Butcher’s beer invention — Triple IPA “Mirror Ball 3000”, a tri-hop mash-up from Mosaic, Sentinel and Citra hops (10.5% ABV), a review of streaming series worth a shit or two to include Heist, Bosch, Start-up and Animal Kingdom, Eddie acquires another stone in his shoe at the hands of popular social media app NextDoor’s dumbest user base, COVID pet owners, before wrapping with virtual a “handbook” on HIPAA regulations (a follow-up from Episode 0029) — all we do is deliver, every single time, that’s it.
