1 How to make cash payments付款 as fast as cashless無現金 payments?

2 With Apple Pay and Android Pay release釋出 the new age of mobile可動的 payment, cash-based payment seems似乎 obsolete淘汰.

3 After all畢竟, it takes so much time for the clerk店員 to count your money, open the cash register結帳櫃台, and prepare準備 your change零錢.

4 Swiping刷 your credit card or tapping輕拍 your smartphone is just much faster.

5 I was shocked驚訝 when I saw the speed速度 of automated自動化 cash register machines in supermarkets市場.

6 With these machines機器, the clerk simply has to insert插入 the bills into the machine’s slot投幣孔, and before you can finish “cashless payment,” your change is calculated計算 and out.

7 Japan’s automatic自動 cash register machines are not only incredibly難以至信 fast, but they also help eliminate消除 human error錯誤.

8 This is, of course, a testament證明 to the brilliant聰明 engineering工程 prowess非凡能力 of the Japanese.

9 Japanese engineering — and it focuses專注 on the concept觀念 of continuous持續 improvement改善 — incorporates合併 iterative反覆的 design, practiced實踐 by millions of designers around the world every day.

10 So what makes the difference不同 between a Japanese cash register, for example?

11 It’s the amount of focus spent on designing the machine.

12 It’s the “continuous” in continuous improvement.

13 Crucially關鍵地, It’s the final最後 few steps that push your design設計 beyond超越 "good enough" to "magical神奇."

14 How to solve a bottleneck貧頸 in one step

15 In Singapore, train stations車站 constantly經常 deal with the problem of overcrowding擁擠.

16 With an annual一年的 ridership乘客數 equal等於 to the world’s population人口, is no exception例外.

17 Fare gates匝門 are potential潛在 bottlenecks in train stations, especially特別是 in rail systems鐵路系統 that use card-based卡片為主 payment systems.

18 You can see why by looking at the typical典型的 user path of a passenger乘客 at a fare gate:

19 Tap輕拍 the card on the reader

20 Check the remaining剩下 value價值 on the card

21 Move past the fare gate

22 Step 2 is where bottlenecks happen since passengers usually stop to check their remaining balance結餘 before walking through the fare gates.

23 In Japan, fare gates have a slightly些微 different design to tackle交涉 this problem.

24 The fare gates have their displays螢幕 situated位於 at the other end of the gate.

25 In other words, to check the value of your card, you have to move past the fare gate. It’s brilliant.

    26 The process becomes:

27 Tap the card on the reader

28 Move past the fare gate

29 Check the remaining value on the card

30 This small difference不同 makes the process過程 much faster.

31 Instead of取代 stopping to read the numbers in front of the fare gates, you’ll be doing so while walking through the gates and out of the station.

32 On top of that, when you’re at the end of the fare gate, you’re psychologically心理學地 continuing持續 walking — partly一部份 because that’s where the gate barriers柵欄 are located位於.

33 You instinctively本能地 step out of the fare gate and out of the station車站.

34 By changing the position位置 of the display screen螢幕 on the fare gate, Japanese designers設計師 turned a potential潛力 bottleneck貧頸 into an accelerator加速.

35 People are now motivated動力 to move out without沒有 stopping.

36 How to make an entire全部 city accessible可進入 to the blind盲人.

37 While in Tokyo and Osaka, I was shocked by just how accessible可接近的 for the visually視覺 impaired受損.

    38 Braille點字法 is everywhere.

39 In Japan, you can find Braille on the most unexpected不預期 surfaces表面 — and that is about the level of vision-impaired視力受損 accessibility可進性 in other parts of the world.

40 Take canned drinks罐裝飲料, for example舉例.

41 For most people, it’s a no-brainer無需思考 to choose選擇 between these two cans of drinks:

42 But for the visually impaired, both cans feel identical一致. How would one differentiate鑑別 between an alcoholic酒精 can and a non-alcoholic can?

43 Thankfully感謝地, in Japan, alcoholic cans are marked標示 with Braille點字法.

1 I don't know why I hesitated猶豫 to buy this new blender果汁機.

2 I was intimidated害怕 by the price.

3 With the cheap便宜 blenders I had been doing all the work: chopping切 ingredients原料, stopping the blender to poke戳 and jab刺 the contents內容, shaking and whacking重擊 the blender, adding加 and more liquid液體.

4 However, cleaning those blenders was even more involved複雜的.

5 Loading裝載 the ingredients原料, flipping切換 the switch按鈕 and turning the dial盤 are super easy.

6 Cleaning is even easier: just pour倒入 water and a drop of dish soap洗碗精 in the container容器 and rinse水洗.

7 With the blender have prepared準備 and poured, cleaned up, and I am enjoying享受 my smoothie冰沙.

8 It's so easy! Plus the texture質地 of the smoothies from the blender is so much nicer.

9 Some reviewers評價者 say this blender is loud大聲. I disagree不同意.

10 It is so much quieter than the blenders I've used in the past過去.

11 You'd have to use a decibel分貝 meter to know for sure, but I perceive意識到 the blender is quieter than a hand mixer.

12 And you only have it make noise for a few seconds.

13 If you have the means意圖, don't hesitate猶豫.

14 Keep your eyes on the price too.

    15 It fluctuates波動sometimes.

    閱讀二
1 I’ve had this blender for about a month now and I like it.

2 I don’t love it because the frozen fruit冷凍水果 pieces get stuck卡住 on the bottom while blending. I have to use the stick to push it down or swirl旋轉 it around.

3 You can add more liquids but if you want a more creamy奶似的 or sorbet雪洛冰沙 texture, I recommend推薦 using the stick棍子.

4 I assumed假設 it was because it was frozen and all blenders can get like this.

5 This has been marketed行銷 as the most advanced blender ever and due to由於 the high price range, I was expecting instant立即的 results結果.

6 I guess, for now, I’ll just have to hear the loud engine馬達 noise as the fruits get stuck to the blades刀片 at high speed速度.

7 I’m also not sure if the left blades help at all.

8 Once the smoothies are done, the smoothie is amazing很棒的.

9 My smoothies come out creamy and very smooth滑順.

10 Instead of blasting爆炸 it to high speed, I take my time to warm it up from normal to high to advanced高階 speed. I also take the same steps when I’m done blending.

11 Also, I love the possibilities可能性 - soup湯, margaritas瑪格麗特, ice cream, etc.

    閱讀三
1 Bought this when it had a 2000 off deal交易.

2 Especially特別是, considering考慮 these are only blenders, but they are the most efficient效率 when it comes to blending anything you put into it and the durability耐用度,

3 I chose the cheaper便宜 model as I don't need the extra programs其他的方案, and the container is just the right size for us.

4 These blades刀片 allow for smaller quantities量 if making a recipe食譜 for one.

5 So far目前 I have not found any fault錯誤 with this model.

6 It does a fantastic驚人 job of blending anything I've put into it, as long as只要 you follow the loading rules: liquids液體 first, followed by lighter輕的 ingredients原料 like leafy葉菜 material, then heavier items like apples followed by heavy ice cubes冰塊.

7 This ensures保證 the blades start blending the easier stuff東西 first. The heavier items weigh重量 the load down to maintain維持 the weight重量 into the blades until everything is flowing漂浮 in a strong vortex旋風, completing完成 the blend.

8 I did struggle掙扎 with a frozen dessert點心, but I think that was because all the fruit ingredients were frozen solid固體 and I missed the recommendation推薦 to let them thaw解凍 a little for 10-20 minutes on the countertop流理臺 before blending.

9 Everything was too frozen. It did produce產出 a tasty美味 sorbet冰沙 after much tampering搗棒!

    10 Cleanup is a breeze簡單事情.

11 You just rinse清洗 the container, add warm溫暖 water with a couple of drops滴 of dish liquid, and run at high speed.

    12 Rinse again. That’s it.

13 Unlike不像事 other blenders, the blades are not sharp尖銳.

14 The speed of rotation循環旋轉 and the subsequent隨後的 mixing vortex driving the ingredients into the blades.

15 For flour麵粉 and another dry seed種子 blend, you need a "dry" container, supplied供應 separately分開 as an accessory配件, but over $3000 !!

16 Its blades are a different configuration配置 and keep the vortex from breaking down seeds in the container.

17 The function功能 is suitable適合 for "lumpy塊狀" soup.

18 I added some more baked potatoes馬鈴薯 and roasted烤 cauliflower花椰菜 to the soup which turned out well.

19 As with any high-speed blender, these blenders are noisy吵雜的, but we don't live in an apartment公寓 to have to worry about noise!
