In Luke 23, Jesus hangs on the cross for us, but he’s not alone. There’s two criminals that hang there on their own crosses on Jesus’ right and left. As Jesus prays to the father, these two guys seem to interrupt the prayer and both have something to say to him. But their hearts could not be any more different toward Jesus. One mocks. The other asks for mercy. These two guys represent every person who has ever lived. Jesus invited one to his party, to be his “+1.”

This weekend we continued our series in Romans, stepping into one of the most honest passages in the Bible.

In Romans 7, Paul basically says, “I keep doing the things I know I shouldn’t… and I can’t seem to do the things I know I should.”  Which, if we’re being honest… sounds a lot like our relationship with donuts and the gym. But this isn’t just about habits. It’s about something deeper.

All of us want to change something about our lives. A pattern. A mindset. A relationship. None of us actually wants to feel stuck, but a lot of us do. So the question is: how do we actually change?

This week, we dove in to better understand that real change doesn’t come from trying harder, rather it comes from meeting Jesus. Tune into this week’s message titled, “Why Can’t I Change?”

This weekend we leaned into a subject that we often feel but don’t always have the words to express… The PRESSURE of every day life. 

Have you been feeling any pressure in life lately? From work, to bills, to chores, to kids, to fitness and health, to family, to drama with people, to our past, to our future… Life can be heavy. And yet even when we’re giving life all we got, it’s easy to feel like we’re falling behind and not keeping up with the people or world around us. 

And all of that leads to… PRESSURE. But what if the life God has for us isn’t built on pressure at all?

This Sunday we unpacked how the Gospel doesn’t just change our eternity, it begins to change what we carry right now. Unlike the world, God offers a kind of peace that isn’t dependent on circumstances, performance, or how well we hold everything together. The peace of God is a deeper and steadier kind of peace that meets us right where we are, and helps us carry the things that often feel like they’re crushing us. 

The peace of God relieves us from the pressure that’s not from God. Tune into this week’s message called, “Peace From The Pressure.”

Life runs on scoreboards. Followers, funding, fitness, career wins—we measure everything. From childhood we’re taught the same lesson: produce, perform, prove yourself. If your score is high enough, you matter. If not… try harder.

But what if the gospel completely shatters that system?

This Sunday we were in Romans 4 and the story of Abraham—a man who had more spiritual accomplishments than almost anyone in history. If anyone could boast before God, it was him. Yet Scripture says something shocking: “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Not earned. Not achieved. Credited.

Paul shows us that our standing with God doesn’t come from our performance, but from faith in what Jesus has done. Salvation isn’t a wage God owes—it’s a gift God gives.

This week we jumped into Romans 3 in our series, “A New Humanity.”

Paul, in chapter 3, gives us what some Bible scholars call the most important sentence in the Bible. It is the foundation of The Gospel, as it shows us where it all starts. Paul will encourage us to first “Look” at the human condition, to see how broken we really are on our own strength. He does this to help us “Lean” on, not our works, but Jesus’ works. 

Do you ever lean or rely on the wrong thing? Sometimes in life we fall, get lost, or become confused or distraught. But often this happens simply because we chose to rely on the wrong source of strength in the first place. Strength is only as good as its source, and when we choose to rely on the wrong things in life, for life, we fall. 

Paul encourages us to look for a more reliable source for strength in our life, and thereby shows us how to lean on the Lord in a new way and powerful way. We unpacked this in this week’s message called, “Look and Lean.”
