  • 27: John LeFebvre | Good With Money: Basic Rights For All

In this episode, you’ll learn how John Lefebvre rose to immense wealth as a 1/3 billionaire, did a stint in prison, and continued to enjoy his life and privilege while giving a big chunk of his wealth away in support of people in need. He has given away over $50 million dollars to date! Topics covered include the tenants of a constitutional democracy, and the role of government and society to preserve the lives of its populous. Imposing taxes on the “selfish wealthy” and regulations on the corporations are put forth as solutions to social challenges that should be embraced to ensure the health of our people and planet so that together, we can all thrive.

About Our Guest: John Lefebvre, Philanthropist, Author and Musician

John Lefebvre is a writer, musician, philanthropist, and fan of the Oxford comma. Born in 1951, he has been a taxi driver and lawyer, a convict and 1/3 billionaire. In 2000, he co-founded NETeller.com, an online money transfer business that serviced the online gaming industry. In 2003, NETeller went public on the London Stock Exchange with a market capital of almost $2 billion. In 2007 he was arrested by the US Department of Justice which alleged 3 twenty-year offences, money laundering, racketeering and conspiracy. He plead guilty to the offence of conspiracy to promote illegal gambling, in 2011 paid a forfeiture of $40,000,000.00 and served 45 days in Manhattan. Between arrest and sentencing he recorded 2 double CDs, one in Village Recorder in West LA, the other in Oceanway Studios in Hollywood. Both were produced by Brian Ahern.

His first book, “All’s Well – Where Thou Art Earth And Why” maintains that the way forward for our species to exist in perfect peace and enjoyment needs only one thing – we must take basic care of everyone on Earth, no exceptions, no excuses and no delays.

More recently he wrote the story of his life with Vancouver author, music reviewer and journalist, Kerry Gold. “Good With Money – A Rich Guys Guide To Gaining Everything By Losing It All” was published in 2020.

  • 26: Hunter Hansen | The Life Autistic

In this episode, you meet Hunter Hansen, a tech professional who put his writing skills and charisma to use as a blogger, YouTuber and Instagrammer -- to be a champion for the autistic and neurodivergent community to which he belongs. By the end of today’s show, you will think differently about autism and how you relate to other neurodivergent people “on the spectrum”. It may just cause you to question whether you are one of the many undiagnosed autistic adults wandering the world today. You’ll learn through Hunter’s story that some of your mannerisms may even be the hallmark of The Life Autistic.

    About Our Guest, Hunter Hansen:

Hunter is an autistic content creator on YouTube and Instagram and a blogger on thelifeautistic.com. After discovering his autism in his late teens, Hunter tried to outgrow and suppress his autistic traits for years, until coming to terms and embracing his identity as an autistic adult. He has since turned that suppression into passion, advocating for greater understanding and appreciation of autism and autistic people. Hunter works for a major tech company as a business analyst and lives in the Denver area with his wife and three daughters.

  • 25: Godfrey Coker | An African Refugee's Mission To Improve Access + Reflections On The Adopted American Experience

For many refugees integrating into American society is a challenge. Simply exposing themselves to life in a new country is just one of the many challenges that refugees face. Language barriers, helping them succeed in school, finding work and housing and accessing basic services like transportation to name just a few. Many refugees come from underprivileged backgrounds and are oftentimes lacking the tools necessary for an equal playing field with their American counterparts.

Embracing code-switching, also known as “language accommodation” is one way Godfrey Coker, as a refugee from Sierra Leone, transitioned into American society. Depending on your audience, "code-switching" can be an effective communication strategy. But is it good? Join us as we tackle this subject and what it means to live as an underrepresented group member (AKA minority) in America. You’ll gain perspective from Godfrey’s personal experience and learn what he’s doing to provide improved access to resources and representation in both the technological field of gaming and in clinical research.

About Our Guest: Godfrey Coker is a clinical researcher and social entrepreneur with over 10 years of experience in data analysis, with an emphasis on increasing minority participation in clinical trials.
