A Lot To Talk About

Carmen Greentree On Surviving Abduction & Sexual Abuse In India.

Listen Later

Carmen Greentree is an incredible human being.

Her childhood trauma was the catalyst for her professional surfing career. At first it was the the pursuit of physical exercise that allowed her to escape the pain of depression, then the ocean & the waves allowed her to disconnect from the real world.

What started as an escape turned into a career. Travelling the world as a professional surfer, Carmen's career was cut short in her early 20's when she wasn't able to compete in a tournament that would have qualified her for the pro circuit.

Spiralling into depression, Carmen was seeking answers. Looking to understand herself & heal her years of emotional trauma, the discovery of spiritual practices gave her hope. Amongst those she met along the journey of self discovery, it was highly recommended that she travel to India to study under the Dalai Lama.

Soon she found herself having landed in Delhi. The journey to discover her best self had begun but what Carmen could never have imagined was the 2 months that were ahead of her.

Abducted, sexually abused & held captive by an evil man, Carmen endured the hardest 2 months of her life before she experienced a miracle.

A miracle in the form of a friends intuition, the answer to her prayers.

An incredible story that she has shared in her memoir 'A Dangerous Pursuit Of Happiness'.

Carmen is one of the strongest people I have met. An incredible woman who shares her story in hope of helping others heal, I feel honoured to have hosted her on my show.
