  • How to organise an Event

I was a bit surprised recently that some people don't know how to organise events.  Having worked for a Royal Medical College and organised complex admission ceremonies, examinations and educational events as well as the Lights to Remember service for Marie Curie at Chester Cathedral, I thought I would give some advice to anyone who is organising an event for the fist time and how to market it to the right people.

  • Where have all the ROCK CHICKS gone?

This was prompted by Sophie Ellis Bexter*s post on Instagram a couple of weeks ago about the lack of female artists at festivals. I wanted to look a bit more into the detail a bit more on this one and see if that was the case.  This led me to thinking about the seemingly lack of rock chicks and female rock stars and I have a look at the reasons that might be. Is this whole Manosphere scaring women off putting themselves into the limelight? Or has the stalking of famous female celebrities had an impact? After all celebrities are the people that are usually being stalked, it would be highly unusual for a celebrity to be stalking a normal everyday girl.  If people found out then it would affect the way that this celebrity were seen by society, especially if they have a narcissist need to be liked.

  • Garden Mind Fullness

On this weeks podcast I chat through how to move away from dwelling on tramas of the past and things that happened in the past that you have no control over.  We all do it, recall past events, but you can't change the past and there is nothing that you can do to change it.

Looking around a garden is a great form of mind fullness, using everything that a garden like the one at Bodnant to bring you into the present moment.

I also compare the cost of a lifetime membership to the National Trust just under 2.5k to the cost of an expensive handbag and  pair of shoes and ask the question which one would be more beneficial to you?
