It started with a thought planted by the Holy Spirit and now has become an event attended by thousands of Catholics.  The Christ Our Life conference launched in 2012 and has been changing lives ever since. Held every two years in Des Moines, Iowa, Marilyn Lane and Ellen Miller have poured hours of love into this event.  World-class speakers have graced the stage in years past including Bishop Barron, Cardinal Dolan, and Immaculae.  This year's line up will bring the best: Sister Miriam James, Fr. Donald Calloway, and Deacon Harold Burke-Silvers to name a few.

Marilyn and Ellen share conversion stories from past conferences. And we hear how this all began. You will enjoy hearing the  humble beginnings of this life-transforming  Catholic faith experience and what the power of the Holy Spirit can do with a simple "yes".

This week we introduce to you Fr.  Patrick Behm. He is a priest of the Diocese of Sioux City. He wears many hats but mainly as chaplain for Carroll Kuemper Catholic Highschool in Carroll, Iowa. Fr. Patrick knows what kids are searching for today. He offers ways  for parents to foster love in their children for the Catholic faith. Fr. Patrick is a man with wisdom and practical ideas for  young kids through high school. And he answers the question, "What can parents do to help adult children find their way back their faith."

God in his Omnipotence created as mind, body, and soul. Fasting is beneficial both spiritually and physically. God in his Omnipotence created as mind, body, and soul that fasting benefits our whole being!Chris and Julie share these benefits as well as personal stories of  how fasting brought miraculously answered prayers.  

In today's world, we are being constantly inundated daily with the news happening around our church, our families, and our nation. Are you feeling despair? Fear? Helpless?  

 Before any great endeavor, the people of the Bible prayed and fasted: Moses fasted 40 days before going up the mountain to receive the 10 Commandments, King Darius fasted for Daniel's safety in the lion's den, Queen Esther fasted before approaching the King to save Israel, and the apostles fasted before going forth to preach.

We are inviting you to join us in the Let Freedom Ring 40 day fasting and prayer for freedom- spiritual freedom organized by Fr. Bill Peckman, Fr. James Altman, and Fr. Richard Heilman is a series of daily prayers and reflections as well as physical components to bring freedom back to our families, our church, and our country by expelling the demonic influence trying to infiltrate our world. Julie and Chris will be praying the prayers daily on the Catholic Women Now FB page, too. Christ, Jesus be our Victor!

Carrie Schuchts Daunt is a wife and mother. As the developer of the Undone women's event at the John Paul II Healing Center, Carrie has accompanied many women through the journey of restoration. In her book, Undone, Carrie has compiled a collection of raw and redemptive testimonies from real Catholic women who encountered truth and healing.  Today she visits with us about healing and our identity restored.

Relationships are the core of our security and wholeness. When the are fragmented, parts of our identity are damaged and broken. There is pain-filled part of ourselves we do want others to know or to see.  Enter the Shame Cycle. 

Shame prevents us from discovering knots of our heart that God wants to untie and restore to our authentic feminine beauty.

We believe lies: I not good enough, they won't like me if they knew me,  We make inner vows: I will never let ..... hurt me. I can do this myself..

How do we release our shame and fear and find the freedom of being the woman God created us to be?  Undone is a compilation of women's stories of this journey to be restored and free.
