It’s been months in the planning, but it’s finally here! RED NOB DAY 2023 has arrived and it’s Paul and Eli’s one chance to claw back some respect for the podcast and it’s colourful cast of characters. Richard Brandoff is hoping this redeems his standing in the community and with the “knock off characters” lurking in the shadows, this special episode could make or break the whole podcast! Everyone has gone all out to make this a spectacular fundraiser and you’ll be encouraged to donate to these “definitely legit” causes during the show. Expect songs, exclusive sketches, variety acts, and special guest appearances from folk like Sooz Kempner, Stuart Ashen, Ash Frith, Mr Biffo, Ethan Lawrence and Tom Mayhew, as well as a lot of the CheapShow characters you love so much!

After the excitement of last week’s live episode, Paul and Eli are feeling a little burnt out. To combat these blues, they decide to dive into a particularly liquid edition of the show. There’s a large assortment of items to guzzle and sup with hot sauces to endure, chutney to sample and a wide and unsettling range of soda drinks to investigate. Everything from Barratt’s candy based soft drinks to pineapple flavoured habanero sauce passes their lips… and don’t even get us started on whatever that cumin drink was all about! Along the way, there is also time for a couple of appallingly improvised songs and a visit to Dr Silverman. It goes about as badly as you expect.

For some strange reason, Paul and Eli have decided to take CheapShow out of London and perform a live show at The Leicester Comedy Festival. Recorded on Sat 25th Feb at The Firebug Bar in Leicester, the Cheap Chaps bring their usual rude, rowdy and unruly antics to the horror of a real, live audience! They are also joined by comedian and CheapShow alumni Tom Mayhew who will probably regret coming the moment he sets foot on stage. It’s (almost) an hour of mad rants, unusual Moog tunes, Price of Shite items and even some visual gags that don’t quite translate to an audio format! A typical noisy s***show!

When Eli returned from America, he came bearing gifts. Sadly, those gifts were cheap snacks bought from gas stations in Florida. None of this seems like a particularly good idea. There’s mystery meat, misguided gummies and peculiar Peeps to sample as well as something Paul is pretty sure is spoiled. Elsewhere in the show, there are more musical musings to be had when Silverman’s Platter showcases a Thunderbirds themed rave track, a rap from Barnsley Bill and a vinyl record full of nothing but laugh tracks. Along the way, the Cheap Chaps get lost in way too much vulgar punnery, create the “Wacky Boys” sitcom, and barely keep their s*** together. Enjoy!

They swore they’d never go back to Brent Cross. After their first adventure (Ep 104 Malltwats), Paul and Eli agreed that there was never going to be a reason to return. What would be the point? However, when they discover that the Brent Cross Shopping Centre now has a “Charity Supermarket” within its walls, it looks like CheapShow has no choice but to go back. They should have stayed away. What begins as a merry jaunt into North London, VERY quickly gets derailed and becomes one long disaster. It’s an episode of confusion, confrontation, and frustration. This could be CheapShow’s worst walkabout episode. Or it’s best? Why not listen and find out?

Paul is ready to record another thrilling episode of CheapShow this week, but Eli forgot to tell him he doesn’t have the time. He’s off to Florida (again) to visit his family so he can’t record a full edition of the pod. Undefeated. Paul whips out his time machine macguffin and hops between the present (or the past, as of the recording) into the future (or the present… It really doesn’t matter) to see if Mr Biffo is interested, once again, in taking on a timey-wimey Price of Shite. This (last) week, the POS items come from a PO Box delivery and contain three cute charity shop curated curios. Both Mr Biffo and Eli will evaluate these items and guess the price, but which one will come out victorious? Only time will tell. Oh, and it also seems like there are more nefarious schemes afoot behind the scenes, but what can it all be leading to? Yes, it’s a pointlessly gimmicky episode, folks! Enjoy!

Get your taste buds ready, because Paul and Eli are going to be noshing on a range of tongue-tingling yet sometimes stomach-churning cheap eats! There has been another delivery to CheapShow HQ and this one is packed with delicious, unusual jelly candies. In fact one is so unusual, more time is spent playing with it than eating it. It’s an odd mix of gummies that apparently want to be toys more than edible treats. Luckily, this must mean that there is a new Froth Shop opening! Huzzah…sorta! There is a return to a “Tales from the Shop Floor” when Paul recounts a recent strange encounter in a local charity shop. Luckily, the incident makes for a good story and a nice little Lego discovery. Finally, it’s another “Noodle Pot Blitz” to end the show. After some online badgering, the cheap chaps cave in and purchase a “Donor Kebab Pot Noodle”. Will it surprise them with its tasty goodness, or will it be hot, sloppy muck? I think we kinda already know the answer to that one… OH MOTHER!!!

If there is one thing we love on CheapShow, it’s snacks… and crisps! This week, we have more crisps than we know what to do with, when a tub of “Spudos” is delivered to the PO Box! What is “Spudos”? Well, it’s a big plastic tub filled with plain crisps and comes with an assortment of flavours to sprinkle on. It’s basically an elaborate “Salt N’ Shake”! Will Paul and Eli embrace this strange service, or will they reject its advances? In the Silverman’s Platter, Eli unearths a McDonald’s branded vinyl album that encourages children to count and spell along with Ronald and his wacky friends. It’s… odd. One last thing. We’ve added a new cryptid to the show. Sorry about that.

YOU send your PO boxes to us, and WE (eventually) get around to opening them! This week, Paul and Eli dive into a delivery from Canada which is packed with items that will both tickle and torture their taste buds. From sumptuous snacks to flaming hot Mac n’ Cheese, there are cheap eats aplenty ahead. There maybe a bit too much to gorge on. Luckily, Paul has pulled out another parlour game called “You Be The Judge” that gives them the chance to flex their legal skills. As you can imagine, it doesn’t go all that well. This would usually be more than enough for an episode, but there’s a lot more to enjoy! Paul’s genitals are turning into a wild range of full blown classic Universal Monsters whilst Eli dedicates most of the episode to his “bad boy, maverick broadcaster” image by trying to make his new filthy innuendo stick! It’s another episode of good intentions but failed executions!

Every now and then it’s good to change things up and break free from the old routine, and Paul is excited to do that this week, because he has a brand-new segment to show off. He’s called it the “Charity Shop Showcase” and allows them the chance to talk about charity shop items that may not fit into the show’s usual fun and games. Eli admits it’s a strong new segment, but the merriment won’t last long. There’s also some brand-new sodas to try out and this week it’s an international affair with drinks from Denmark, China and Russia. Which one will be top of the pops? Finally, it’s time to tackle a bugbear of Paul’s (one of MANY this episode) as CheapShow takes on the “Bread” board game. A game based on a 1980s BBC sitcom that you will soon discover Paul has some major problems with. Will the game kill Paul and Eli’s faith in humanity? Spoilers: Yes.
