In Colossians 4:7-18, Paul concludes his letter to the Colossians. Through the mentioning of ministry partners, we see that if you are saved by the grace of God, you are in ministry. All Christians have a role in ministry. Everyone of us that has been saved has an assignment from God. Stay faithful to what God has called you to do. In Colossians 4:2-6, Paul tells the Colossians how to pray, what to pray for, and how to act once these prayers have been answered. Prayer is not primarily about getting things from God. Prayer is primarily about coming one with God. Paul saw people as opportunities for God to intersect their life. What do we see when we see people? Pray for open doors that we may share the Good News of Jesus to others. In prayer, continue steadfastly, be watchful, and be thankful. In Colossians 3:22-4:1, Paul tells the Colossians to do all things for the glory of God. As Christians, we are called to work or serve for an audience of one, God. Why we are motivated to work and serve for God is because we have an audience of one. We are called not to be faithful to others first but to be faithful to God first. The motive behind why you do what you do matters. Because of what Christ has done on our behalf, this allows us to work and serve with intentionality. We have a reward that is in Christ and a guarantee. In Colossians 3:18-21, Paul reminds about how God designed the home and family. We are all called to be obedient to God's Word regardless of what your role is in the family. God has placed men to be the head of the home and to bless and protect the home under God's authority. To lead them in the ways of the Lord, you must first start following Jesus. Surrender to God's authority and be obedient. Being obedient in all things being obedient even when you don't want to.

In Colossians 3:18-21, Paul tells the Colossians how to lead a home by husbands leading their wives, wives submitting to the authority of their husbands, and children obeying their parents. God knows how the family is supposed to function and operate because He created and designed the family. When a family is operating the way God designed it, then it is a reflection of who God is. God has called men to lead. God has placed men to be the head of the home. You start leading your home when you first start following Jesus.
