Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago. This week on Chicago Beer Pass there are zero hugs going around. Sadly, Brad Chmielewski & Nik White were both unable to get their coffee stout loving hands on any bottles of Big Hugs this year. For some consolation, the guys are drinking cans of Half Acre Daisy Cutter as they chat about Brad’s attempt to score Big Hugs and Nik drinking Jack Daniels.  As the year draws to a close, there seems to be less and less beer events happening. One event you should be checking out is the first official release of Bold Dog Beer Company beers at Bitter Pops on Friday, December 16th. The duo behind Bold Dog have been listeners, guests and supporters of Chicago Beer Pass and it’s exciting to finally see their beer getting out there to the public.    The guys wrap up the show with a bit of news and talk about the endless issues surrounding Finch’s. Once a year FOBAB descends onto the Chicago beer scene and it’s an event you really don’t want to miss. Brad and Nik chat about some of the beers they tried and go over some of the winners.  A lot of the beers you see at FOBAB won’t be seen again but there are a few that get bottled for limited release and that’s what you’re seeing this weekend. Barrel-aged beers from Begyle, Half Acre Tighthead are all getting released this weekend at each of their taprooms. One of those events that you should check out is November 10th at Village Tap and is their “2016 Couldn’t Get a Ticket to FoBaB Barrel Aged Beer Event.” This event is a great excuse to go drink some barrel aged beers. Brad picked up a four pack of Aqua Predator when he was at Off Color for the Eeek release and couldn’t resist diving into them right away. This past weekend Nik was out of town drinking in Minnesota so the guys chat a little about what’s been happening just a few hours away from Chicago. The weather is getting pretty chilly out there so there is no reason you shouldn’t be inside staying warm and knocking back a few beers. Although it’s Halloween and it’s likley most people have plans, there are a couple events worth checking out. On Saturday at Four Moon Tavern is a Pig Roast and Off Color Tap Takeover. On this weeks episode, Brad Chmielewski & Nik White are drinking the latest collaboration release from Off Color & Miller High Life. Off Color Brewing’s Eeek was released this past weekend at their brewery and after that won’t be sold in Illinois. Both Brad and Nik were at the release and picked up a few bottles to share and sample. Now that the Great American Beer Festival is behind us, it seems like the Chicago events are back in full swing. So if you’re not busy watching the Cubs, you might want to check out a few of these. Friday night at Paddy Long’s Beer and Bacon Pub is The 6th Annual Barrel Aged Malort and Cheap Beer Festival. This event kicks off at 7:00 PM and features 16 hand-picked and well loved regional cheap beers for just $3 each. On Saturday at Blue Island Beer Company is the 2nd Annual Sessh Fest!
