Sadly, Brad Chmielewski & Nik White were both unable to get their coffee stout loving hands on any bottles of Big Hugs this year. For some consolation, the guys are drinking cans of Half Acre Daisy Cutter as they chat about Brad’s attempt to score Big Hugs and Nik drinking Jack Daniels.  As the year draws to a close, there seems to be less and less beer events happening. One event you should be checking out is the first official release of Bold Dog Beer Company beers at Bitter Pops on Friday, December 16th. The duo behind Bold Dog have been listeners, guests and supporters of Chicago Beer Pass and it’s exciting to finally see their beer getting out there to the public.    The guys wrap up the show with a bit of news and talk about the endless issues surrounding Finch’s. Off Color Brewing’s Eeek was released this past weekend at their brewery and after that won’t be sold in Illinois. Both Brad and Nik were at the release and picked up a few bottles to share and sample. Now that the Great American Beer Festival is behind us, it seems like the Chicago events are back in full swing. So if you’re not busy watching the Cubs, you might want to check out a few of these. Friday night at Paddy Long’s Beer and Bacon Pub is The 6th Annual Barrel Aged Malort and Cheap Beer Festival. This event kicks off at 7:00 PM and features 16 hand-picked and well loved regional cheap beers for just $3 each. On Saturday at Blue Island Beer Company is the 2nd Annual Sessh Fest!
