A 4-time All-Star goalie, Nikolai Khabibulin signed a 4-year $27 million contract with the Blackhawks in 2005. After winning the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Khabibulin was a key piece of the Blackhawks’ rebuild and a member of the 2009 club that made the Western Conference Final. Khabibulin returned to Chicago in 2014 but was limited to just 4 games due to injury, and called it a career after 18 seasons in the NHL.

Frank Pellico manned the organ at both the old Chicago Stadium and the United Center for more than three decades. One of his most memorable performances came before the 1991 NHL All-Star game in Chicago, when he played the National Anthem before a raucous, cheering crowd. Back then he accompanied Wayne Messmer, but for his final decade or so, it was Jim Cornelison. Pellico was known for wearing a #61 jersey in the organ booth. That number signified the number of keys on a standard organ. He retired in February.
