Joel Quenneville was already an established coach when the Blackhawks tabbed him to succeed Denis Savard 4 games into the 08-09 campaign. The Hawks made it back to the playoffs that year, and all the way to the Conference Final. A year later, they won the first of 3 Stanley Cups under Quenneville, who would coach the Hawks for 11 years.  Quenneville was suspended by the NHL in 2021 for allegedly mishandling abuse allegations by a former Hawks player but now has been reinstated and will coach the Anaheim Ducks.

Today we profile the great mascot of the Chicago Blackhawks, Tommy Hawk.  Introduced in the 2001-02 season, Tommy Hawk has been entertaining fans at the United Center for over 20 seasons. Known for his unpredictable wardrobe changes and his silly pranks, you never know what he will do next. You might even think twice about leaving your seat when there is a break in the action. Tommy was named the 2023 NHL Mascot of the Year and was inducted into the Mascots Hall of Fame in 2017.

Acquired in a trade with the Senators in 2006, he was an All-Star in his first year with the Blackhawks. Martin Havlat spent three of his fifteen seasons in Chicago. The winger tallied 161 points over 172 games with the Hawks. After his run in Chicago, Havlat earned another All-Star bid with the Minnesota Wild. After stints in San Jose, New Jersey, and St. Louis, Havlat called it a career in 2016.
