Dan and I remain friends to this day, but never worked together! In his episode we discuss how he chose law enforcement and the situations that made him realize he needed to leave law enforcement behind. We also discuss BoulderCrest and how it has been instrumental in his healing process. His story is like so many others, he sheds some light on PTSD/ PTSI and how he still actively puts in the work to combat it.
Give him a warm welcome and enjoy the show!

Nancy and I worked together at the end of our careers. She was the Detective Sgt in Operations Division South. We handled some capers during this time, and I felt like we were pretty solid friends, but I actually learned a lot about Nancy during our interview. There was so much more to her career than I ever knew.
I've mentioned her in previous episodes, she was a Hostage Negotiator, and she got into a shooting of her own. She shares how all of her experiences impacted her professional and personal life. She's a teacher, of both cops and now kids (Can't believe they let her warp young minds) and she's on a journey to get her Doctorates degree!
There's so many reasons to be proud to know her, but you'll just have to listen in for yourself and get to know her little better! Thank you Squad, we are well over 6K downloads and growing. All credit goes to you and my guests! Enjoy, and be safe out there!

Hey everyone! This week I had Lt. Dominic Flores stop by. His story is awesome, how he decided to become a public servant and serve not only his community, but also our Country as an NCO in the United States Air Force.
He shared parts of his career but the true meaning behind his visit was to share more about the BoulderCrest StruggleWell program. The Tucson Police Department is working to have every officer in their department attend this program. It provides tools for officers to not just cope, but thrive and come back stronger as a result of their experiences.
Give him a warm Choir Practice Squad welcome and enjoy the show. We'll be back to the normal routine next week with Retired Tucson Police Detective Sergeant Nancy Dowdy!
Be safe out there!

Mike served the City of Tucson for 29 years. We worked together I the office of Internal Affairs, but he was a Motor officer, A SWAT Operator, a Sergeant and a good cop. He's always been a pretty funny guy, but definitely a guy you would want to have standing next to you if a situation started to go sideways.
I'm very happy he decided to come and share. His wife was also on the department, and I believe his kids went on to become officers as well. Don't miss out, you're going to enjoy this episode as much as I did. Welcome "Mikey" to the hot seat, but more importantly to the faithful Squad.
Be safe out there!

Welcome back to Choir Practice!
There was no way we were going to be able to capture 30 years in law enforcement in just one episode! "The human rolodex" had to return to share more experiences, refute Charles Blue and Dan Lewis' claims and set the record straight!
All kidding aside, I appreciate Mark for his willingness to be on the show, to share about his battle with cancer and share his experiences with you, "The Squad." As the host, however, I'm most excited that he now has this legacy where his kids, and grandkids, can listen in to his voice and hear about his professional life as a police officer. Enjoy the show, it was a great conversation and thanks for tuning in.

When Ari first came on the show, he wrapped up the episode by talking about pulling a traffic stop on an airplane while working undercover, spending 18 years in the Hostage Negotiations Unit and a few other stories that didn't make it into his fist interview!!! There was NO way I wasn't having him come back to explain himself! Haha
I loved the conversation, but MOST of all I appreciate him for sharing about the work he is doing with 1-800-COPLINE (267-5463). We recently lost a brother here locally and I cannot stress enough that there are cost-free resources out there for veterans and first responders that are filled with people who care about you and want to help. You are not alone, the world is a better place with you in it! Please reach out.

Raul and I were connected by my former co-worker, Dan Spencer, owner of Filthy Pirate Coffee. As soon as I met Raul, I knew two things: 1) I definitely want him on the show, 2) I bring him my business and recommend him for anyone needing screen printing. He started Del Designs (Find him on Instagram) several years before retiring from US CBP and he does great work, but more importantly his story of being a first generation US citizen, joining the Marine Corps and then Border Patrol is a story I believe many of you can relate to, and he also has some great tales from his experiences over the years.
Give him a warm welcome to the squad and be safe out there!

Throughout our careers, Dan and I had the pleasure of working together. He's genuinely one of my favorite people on the department. He's always been a comedian, so the stories and experiences surrounding Dan, whether told by him or those who know and love him, always had a hilarious spin. He accomplished many great achievements throughout his career, but I'm happiest that he has earned his well deserved retirement. I wish him nothing but the best...please grab a cold drink and sit back, you're going to enjoy this episode!

Paul and I were introduced by Gary Youngling (Episode 2). He came over and we hit it off, much like all my guests. We never worked together, but share a kindred spirit by our similar work experiences. It turns out he was in the academy with Lillian George (Episode 10)!
He served the county with distinction and, in his episode, reflects on some of the more extraordinary calls he handled in the Unincorporated parts of Pima County. Give him a warm "Choir Practice Squad" welcome and enjoy the show.
And as always, be safe out there!

Chuck and I ran out of time in his debut episode, but he was able to come back a couple days later and we got this episode in the books. Listen in, we chat about his shooting but we also cover one of the most "Stand up" gestures I've ever witnessed in my career. Again, it's good to call him friend and I'm glad he's in the club.
He's also a part of the Public Safety Charitable Foundation, which can be found on Facebook, and their mission is to provide assistance to families of first responders after major injury or making the ultimate sacrifice for their communities. Check them out please and welcome Charles back. Enjoy the show...
