Christian Outdoors Podcast

The day he left for basic training, Aaron Ritter renounced Jesus and all religion. Living a life of selfishness, and as he puts in "the life of a rock star" (whatever that is). Years in the Navy, as a firefighter, living on the edge daily. Several failed marriages and then a horrific motorcycle accident that ripped part of his right leg off.

A faithful father and mother who never stopped praying for their son. A passion for the outdoors, and finally a life surrendered to Jesus.

Limb-itless Outdoors is a program for amputees to find hope and fulfillment through the outdoors and archery. Aaron shares his journey into a life of hope and a desire to help others find it also.

This week Jon talks about a fun little narrative in John 6 where the disciples forgot to wait for Jesus and then got stuck in a storm. While there fear and discouragement seems to have been the choice of the disciples, we find Jesus pursuing them and meeting their needs in the midst of the storm.

As always, if you wish to discuss this further, feel free to shoot Jon an email at [email protected].

This week Jon speaks on differentiating between the voice of the accuser and the voice of the restorer. The lesson this week comes from John 8.1-11 where we find Jesus combatting accusers and restoring the accused!

Listeners know there is nothing more I enjoy more than turkey hunting. The allure of the spring woods being awakened to the thurnderous gobble of a mature turkey stirs my soul like nothing else. It is refreshing when I get the chance to talk with kindred spirits.

Today, Jon Goodwin joins me again on a conversation with Travis Sumner. Travis has "been there and done that" in the world of hunting turkeys. From years spent with NWTF, to conservation groups, and mentoring new hunters. Decades as a member of the Mossy Oak pro-staff and more. Talking about turkeys, managing turkeys, managing habitat for turkeys and living a life loving people and his Lord Jesus Christ. Travis is the real deal. I am sure you will enjoy this conversation as much as we did.

Today Jon takes a unique look at the Great Commandment, found in Matthew 22, and challenges our listeners to get curious about their neighbor. After all, how can we love people if we do not seek to know them better?

Kayak Fishing is picking up popularity all across the country with more and more anglers preferrig human powered boats rather than the giant gasoline engines. Kayak fishing poses it's own set of skills and challenges which is what draws many anglers to this activity. As such more and more tournaments have begun with kayak anglers. Bass fishign tournaments, redfishing tournaments and more are gaining popularity.

Chase Carlock of Southwest Indiana Outdoors joins us today to discuss all things Kayak fishing and how he got started and where he is now in the world of Kayak fishing bass tournaments.

Chase also shares with us his journey with his faith. Being reared in church, moving away and finding himself returning to his roots. I guess the scripture is true that if you raise your children up in the Lord they will nto depart from it (paraphrase)

This week Jon asks a simple question; what do you need to say yes too?

Saying yes can be terifying especially when we feel unqualified. The Scriptures are littered with men and women who were not qualified but still were called into the service of our Savior. How can this be possible? The simple answer is this: our Savior is qualified!

This week devotion shares the following Scriptures:

Exodus 3.11; 3.13; 4.1; 4.10; 4.13

Isaiah 56.8-9

Ephesians 3.20
