Christian Outdoors Podcast

For the past 20 years Jeff Danker has been a staple on outdoor television. Known for killing giant whitetail deer. Jeff is one of the best hunters, and television producers in the industry. Growing up in central Oklahoma, Jeff cut his teeth in the outdoors in rodeo as a calf roper and team roping.

Buckventures television was his way of making a product that shows a deep passion for hunting whitetail deer. Jeff's obsession with whitetail deer is on a different level. Matching wits with mature whitetail bucks and sharing his faith in Jesus is what drives him. An unapologetic Christian, Jeff shares with us his outdoor adventures and his passion for Jesus in this episode.

It is one of the shows I have wanted to do for a long time, and we were finally able to get together and discuss his life and his faith journey. Jeff Danker is a class act, as real as it gets, and someone who's message will move you to action.

What is a mountain man? In days gone by, the mountain man was a rugged individual who carved his life out of the Rocky Mountains, Yukon or Alaska living off the land. Trapping, hunting, fishing and more.

Many a boy grew up dreaming of living such a life, but few of us have pursued it with the passion and dedication as Billy Molls. Known as the Modern Day Mountain Man. Billy Molls has guided hunters across the Alaskan wilderness for more than two decades.

Hunting Dall sheep and Alaskan-Yukon moose in the Brooks range, Grizzly bears in the western interior and Brown bears on the pennuslia and Kodiak island. Molls has lived a life many of us dream about.

Chronicling most of this through a video camera, The Modern Day Mountain Man is a popular channel on YouTube and social media. Billy's open personality and willingness to share his struggles and his faith make his shows a "must-see TV"

Today we discuss his life as a guide and his faith journey as he spends months each year in the wilderness of Alaska.

It is Holy week, the last week of Jesus' life and as we approach Easter Sunday. I brought with me Pastor Jon Goodwin of Heartland Bible Church of Gasport, NY to talk with me, not about Easter Sunday, but rather we talk about Friday. The day Jesus dies on the cross. We discuss what that day means to us individually and then we dive into the theological side of what Jesus accomplished on the cross.

More than anything we want the listener to know that what Jesus did on the cross, he did for you. He opened the door to the father for you. He took on the sin of the world for you. He conquered death for you. He came, suffered and died for you so you would not face the death of sin. He did everything he did just for you.

If you have not taken the opportunity to accept the offer of salvation for you that is given through the blood of Jesus. Do not take another day without making that decision and commitment.

If you want to talk about this with anyone, you can email me directly [email protected] I will be happy to talk with you about any of this so you can experience hope unleashed.

Part 1 of a 2 part discussion with who many consider the greatest photographer of wildlife in America. Lance Kreuger is best known for his pictures of whitetail deer and wild turkeys and today he and I discuss some of the nuisances of getting these epic pictures. How he got into the business of photography, how he gets some of his shots, and his equipment.

Much of this discussion is technical for photographers who are interested in equipment, his transition from film to digital and why. But we also cover a lot of the details of how he gets close to mature deer and turkeys.

The discussion is so good we kept talking and I decided to break it into two episodes. Next week we will get into more detail of photography, and we also discuss his passionate Christian walk and how that has influenced his life.

Every now and again you stumble across someone who is doing something right and for the right reasons. This happened to me when I ran across Oscar "Moosie" Williamson and his new hunting apparel company; Catch and Release Hunting Apparel.

Seven years ago, Moosie set out to make the highest quality hunting clothing at an affordable cost. Realizing that the premium brands out there, while good, were insanely expensive and well beyond the avarage hunter or outdoor enthusiast. Moosie designed and developed a line of clothing that rival the top names in the industry at a fraction of the cost. Catch and Release Camo is not your run-of-the-mill camo. On the contrary, the material is the highest quality you will find and their price point is reachable by the average outdoor enthusist.

In this episode we discuss his adventuers as he hunted Tahr in New Zealand, the plains of Africa and in his native Idaho. If you wan to learn more go to; www.catchandrelease.us
