Well, Election Day has come and gone and what better movie to talk about than John Carpenter's incendiary sci-fi camp classic THEY LIVE?!

It also happens to be turning 30 years old this week!

During this episode, we'll discuss the evolution of the film from short story to comic book to the final product that we see on screen today, including all of the political and social commentary that John Carpenter added to it. John was an angry man during Reagan's 1980s!

We're also putting this one up for inclusion in the Psychotronic Hall of Fame, so be sure to cast your vote!

We couldn't let this entire HALLOWEEN series come to a conclusion without watching the film that effectively killed the franchise for seven years, could we?

But we honestly also couldn't justify a "traditional" episode on the film. Plus, we've just celebrated our two year anniversary, so we're doing the same thing we did on our one year anniversary: a special commentary track!

This works just like the commentary tracks that you find on DVDs and Blu-rays, only with a tad more work from you, since you'll have to make sure everything syncs up.

Happy Halloween, everyone! We hope you've had as much fun as us this October as we've worked our way through the entire HALLOWEEN movie franchise.

We started the month celebrating the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter's original masterpiece with special guest Jeremy Johnson, who also joined us for HALLOWEEN II. Then we had a ton of fun (some would say too much fun) talking HALLOWEENS 4 & 5 and THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS with John-Paul Newton and Myles Griffin. (We also did a bonus episode, reviewing HALLOWEEN 2018!)

And now, on All Hallows Eve, our series comes to a close with a look at the last film that brought Laurie Strode face-to-face with Michael Myers, and one that celebrated its own 20th anniversary this year, HALLOWEEN H20: 20 YEARS LATER, along with special guest Fred Sims.

Regardless of your thoughts on H20, one thing's for certain: it's very much a product of its time. We'll discuss how it came to be, how it was influenced by a Wes Craven film (and DAWSON'S CREEK!) and where we think it ranks in the Michael Myers saga.

This week, as our month-long HALLOWEEN series continues, we're once again joined by guests Myles Griffin and John-Paul Newton to discuss one of the most controversial entries in the entire series, 1995's HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS.

This entry has long been derided by fans, and had a long history of production woes, resulting in not one, but two separate versions of the film. The infamous Producer's Cut was traded on shoddy bootleg VHS tapes among horror collectors for years before finally being officially released on blu ray a couple of years ago.

In this episode, as we get into the behind-the-scenes stories on the film, we'll also examine both of these cuts to determine which (if either) is more worthwhile.

HALLOWEEN 4 is often cited by HALLOWEEN fans as one of the better sequels in the series, while its follow-up — released less than a year later — is regularly called the turning point where the series truly goes off the rail, with its infamous introduction of the mysterious Man In Black and the unresolved Thorn storyline. How do the films hold up three decades later?

We'll discuss the decisions that led to their creation and how the disappointment of HALLOWEEN III led to producer Moustapha Akkad resurrecting The Shape, Michael Myers.

How does one follow-up the most successful independent film of all time? We'll discuss the development of this sequel, as well as how it was influenced by the booming slasher film craze of the early 80s — a craze that was kick-started by its predecessor!

In addition to our discussion of the behind-the-scenes stories on HALLOWEEN II, including how its script came to be, and why John Carpenter chose not to direct, we also discuss where it sits in the franchise, and how some narrative decisions that it made would impact the series for decades.

If you're a long time listener of the show, then you know that every October, we do a horror theme month. But one thing we've never done is tackle an entire franchise. Well, this year, we're taking things up a notch and spending the entire month of October by visiting each film in one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time.

With the upcoming sequel from David Gordon Green on the way, we thought this would be the perfect time to finally take a look at John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN.

This gives us the opportunity to not only discuss one of the most groundbreaking horror films of all time, but also to discuss one of our favorite directors (who we've not discussed before now!) in John Carpenter.

And we're joined this week by a very special guest: friend of the podcast and all-around HALLOWEEN expert Jeremy Johnson.

This week, we're marking the recent release of Shane Black's new PREDATOR sequel, by taking a look at the last entry in the series, 2010's PREDATORS!

We're joined this week by special guest Fred Sims to discuss the film. This entry in the series seems to get looked over by many, so we're here to shine a little bit of light on it and to determine if it's worthy of entering into the Psychotronic Hall of Fame!

We'll take a look at the film's inception which goes all the way back to the mid-90s when director Robert Rodriguez (who would go on to produce the film) wrote a script for it while working on his breakthrough film DESPERADO. How did the long road to getting made affect the film?
