In THE BABADOOK (2014), some deeply irritating kid reads from a storybook that features a monster-man that looks like Lon Chaney in LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT, said monster-man soon coming to life to haunt the boy and his mother. Then the mother has bad dreams and pleasures herself because she's sexually frustrated or something, before trying to kill her son (who could blame her?!), but it's all okay because the kid turns into Rambo and then THE EXORCIST is referenced.

It's only CITIZEN FRAME's "Hallowe'en Month and a Half", you lucky, lucky people -- and what better way to kick off this year's annual frightfest than with a look back at the classic '80s Southern Gothic/folk horror PUMPKINHEAD (1988), SFX wizard Stan Winston's directorial debut, where vengeance is soon seeked out by Lance Henriksen after a bunch of dipshit teens who look to be in their forties accidentally run over the Jerry Maguire kid lookalike thereby resulting in the resurrection of the demon of the title via a hideous old crone in the woods . . .

Jason Statham's "silent tough guy" screen persona has often been compared to that of Clint Eastwood's (it's true!), so it feels only natural that one day he would take on the Man with No Name's son Scott, specifically in Guy Ritchie's 2021 heist movie WRATH OF MAN.

Here, our man gets a new day job working for a security firm, but little do his new co-workers realise that he's very pissed off and very out for revenge, with the usual ninja moves and shoot-outs to be expected, too, of course!

However, after saving a young girl from drowning his cover is soon blown and Bill Nighy's rogue MI6 agents are out for payback.

Bloodshed and ninja moves soon follow (obviously!) in what could possibly be described as "Action Statham" meets "Grounded Statham" via LEON.

CITIZEN FRAME's "Statham September" progresses in style as we look back at Guy Ritchie's crime/comedy SNATCH (2000), where our main man plays Turkish, a dodgy cockney geezer and boxing promoter who finds himself caught up with a gypsy bareknuckle fighter played by Brad Pitt and a diamond heist involving, amongst many others, Benicio Del Toro, a crazy Russian, former footballer Vinnie Jones, club DJ Goldie, Frank Butcher from EASTENDERS, and bad guy Brick Top who likes to feed his victims to the pigs and, in his own words, is a right 'orrible . . . C U Next Tuesday!
